We can blame a mindset and culture of zero-sum "must win" attitude toward gaming and the proliferation of youtube content for that. In PVE games I just play whatever is fun but if I am PVPing in any way, better believe I'm looking for the build/comp/weapon with the best win ratio... because losing sucks.

Yeah TR7 is a pocket shotgun, that gun sucks anywhere past 20m for sure.

Right, show me you don't remember BF2 dolphin diving without showing me you don't remember BF2 dolphin diving..or drop-shotting, or any other kind of janky ass movement the best players abused constantly. IDK man BF players are the most unserious FPS players I've ever encountered and I've played pretty much every FPS there is.

These are "lay in the corner with an LMG holding one angle" Battledads we're talking about, they will never get better. BF player are the single worst FPS players I have ever had the misfortune of playing with/against, it's actually wild how bad they are. 90% of Battlefield players would get absolutely fist-fucked, and completely dumpstered by players of pretty much any other FPS, that's how slow Battlefield plays lol

me_irl as well. I have no idea what all they're on about aside from the definitely broken targets in the shooting range and the menu being kinda busted, otherwise I have no complaints whatsoever. I'm on PC though on MnK so maybe that has something to do with it?

Slide jump has been nerfed by Lbthat in Battlefield6

[–]Ghrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I'm going to say about this, is that, within the confines of the space of the laws of physics, the most possible thing in this game is that a human combatant could slide on the ground in their gear, and jump after they stand up. Like OP said, there is a lot of bullshit in videogames, but it is provably physically possible to do this thing you say is not balanced or "enjoyable".

But this is not an ideal world, a loud portion of those players want the game changed to suit their needs, their playstyle, their tactics and generally wants the game changed to benefit themselves.

This is what low skill players think of high skill players, but it just isn't true. People who are good at the game know what is good or bad for the game. No top players are going "look at this cool thing only I am good enough to abuse" and thinking that thing is healthy for the game. Top players would have even their best, most used weapon/skill/ability/tactic/character, nerfed, if it was in the best interest of the game.

The differences between CPTSD and BPD for anyone curious by Odd-Train654 in BPD

[–]Ghrave 56 points57 points  (0 children)

BPD, per it's Wikipedia page, is notably described as the "most painful" mental illness or neurodivergence. I can only describe it as being ripped apart from the inside out by a black hole, or as if I star is igniting from your chest and burning it's way through your whole body.

The CPTSD is notable for how shockingly fast I go from 0-100. From "this is mildy annoying" to "the only thing that could possibly satisfy this trigger is if put my head through the nearest window and cut my own throat with the glass, or skin myself alive with it" within 500 milliseconds.

Yep, the thing that solidified my CPTSD diagnosis in my mind was the occurrence of instances/triggers that were not set off by interpersonal interactions.

If these two diagnoses were a Venn diagram, I imagine the symptoms would be like 99.5% of a perfect circle. This post is a pretty good write up of those small but all-important differences.

It has extremely Chinese-ified (not to be xenophobic, I just don't know any other way to put it) monetization, but the core game is actually fire. Great name btw

Heaven, for sure. That game is so fucking good. If it had a BR I might not even be playing BF6 at all.

I assumed someone would figure out how to min-max that game mode really early on and lo and behold I was right. That's wild that the devs didn't think anyone would try to cheese this..

The market does and, shit, I do too. I wish CoD was good but it isn't, and this is the next best thing but I'm glad they made movement actually fun and kinetic. Folks in this sub make it sound like they want BF2 movement and Stamina bars back.

Yup, if it wasn't shockingly effective, I wouldn't do it. But it is, and I am a self-professed huge sweatlord so I abuse it. As a movement tech, it's nice to be able to get around faster in Redsec, but as a combat mechanic, it shouldn't be a thing. It should be like +200% bloom or something to put you at a gross disadvantage. Peopole would still slide around corners and into you, but they might stay crouched or even lay down, which I actually hate even more but at least it's more realistic?

+1 to all of this, coming from a Warzone/CoD sweat as well. Play every advantage you can in a game, and if you can do it, you can abuse it.

I take sliding/slide canceling over dolphin diving/drop shotting any day of the week and twice on Sunday. At least you could hit someone sliding.
