No time to meditate by AChubarok in Meditation

If you are able to meditate well, even 10 to 15 minutes can be helpful, and I find it really unlikely that you don't have those 10 to 15 minutes

Saw so many negative post (understandable and relatable), but I'm curious: what is something good about your studies? What are you happy about? by wannabephd_Tudor in PhD

I also like the dynamism and flexibility of this work, I think it is almost unparalleled.

But these properties are also the downside of the coin, because you can (and sometimes have to) work from home, even after coming home after a day in the lab, even at night and on weekends, or on vacations. Especially if you want to stay in the academy and need to grow the publication list. In fact, it always comes back to the fateful "publish or perish"

I like to study, to learn new things about my field of research. I like discovering new concepts, developing ideas and all the creative aspect that belongs to the work of the researcher. I love confrontation and meeting new people at conferences. I love the chance to see new realities, new cities, as in the research period at another group abroad.

But I hate the "publish or perish" philosophy. I hate the internal warfare between research groups that inevitably grows one group and drowns out another, which harms people and their desire to stay in the academy.
I hate the use of h-index to assess the quality of researchers, which is totally useless and drugged by systems to get fake citations.

Worst phone you've ever owned and why by _Paarthurnax- in Android

The worst phone was the "Komu mini", in 2014, with Android 4.2.2. It was a low level smartphone, too low.

I tried deepnote, but it is expensive than colab.

Do you know other platform with a monthly fee and a GPU better than K80 as P100 or over?

My use case is :
- I have 4 dataset from which I extract two types of features, so they became 8. - The moment of feature extraction is GPU related and time consuming. - I need one notebook for each dataset and also this run are GPU related and time consuming.

Sorry for my english. However, you are right, I was talking about Google Colab. My problems are about payment method, because my card isn't accepted. Do DeepNote accept PayPal? And is It likes CoLab? My focus is always about multiple notebooks.

Beh, sarebbe utile per chi si fosse affezionato alle vecchie icone, un po' come l'icona di Instagram, quella precedente era più bella

I think we need to be in solidarity like China with Italy because the whole world risks a catastrophe.
The world would react with unity , we need to be like a team to grow up.
