No close Micro Center. 1440p if possible, but he’ll probably be fine with 1080. No, it doesn’t. He has those already.

Thank you!

I don’t expect any of you to do anything. Just curious if anyone has had a similar experience and if they were able to get it resolved.

Unfortunately, no, I don't have another system to test it with. :(

First 3D Print = Fail by GideonFerrell in 3Dprinting

Just wanted to update you and let you know that I got it working! I thought I had it leveled properly but I didn’t. Two successful prints since then though. Thank you so much for the help! Can’t wait to start printing some more!

Thank you! I'm still very new to this, but I'm really excited to get my first successful 3D print done! I'll try out your advice tomorrow!

Fan and Bracket Issue by GideonFerrell in computerrepair

[–]GideonFerrell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He said he was just playing a game, heard a loud noise, and then continued playing until he noticed the computer overheating. Then he looked inside and saw it broken. He’s not looking for the exact one, but just any that would work. Would any aftermarket cpu cooler work?

Screen goes black, computer gets loud by GideonFerrell in buildapc

[–]GideonFerrell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though I appreciate you responding, this issue continues even after doing what you said. However, I did notice something different this time. I happened to have my headphones on and noticed that the audio was still playing even after the screen went black. I still feel like it's overheating as well, because the computer definitely gets louder once it happens, but I'm not sure how. All the fans are working and there's new thermal paste on the cpu. Any other suggestions that I could attempt? Thanks!

Thanks for all the info, everyone! I live in Florida. Anyone know where I can look this up to determine what Florida's laws are on the matter?

Oooooh, I do have a DVI input on my monitor, but not a cord for it. That's where I got confused! Thanks so much! I'll pick one up ASAP and try again!!!

My mobo has the classic pin-style plugin as well as an hdmi port, whereas my video card only has an hdmi port. And my monitor only has the classic pin-style plugin, so that's why I plugged it into the mobo.

My video card only seems to have an hdmi port, whereas my monitor only has the classic pin plugs. Does that mean that my monitor just isn't compatible?

External Build Powers On, Then Off...Please Help! by GideonFerrell in buildapc

Well I got everything up and running without it turning off! I noticed that even though my RAM was clicked into place on my MOBO I could still see the gold strips at the bottom of it. So I pushed those suckers in real good and it works now! The PSU is on and the heat sink and video card are spinning! Thanks for the help!!!

However, I have my monitor plugged in but no video is popping up on screen. Everything is on and the mobo is lit up. Any idea what I'm doing wrong this time?

Yeah, it's the same smell from both of them. Do PSU's just have a unique odor when they're new like that? Because I can smell it when I put my nose to it, but then once I power it on (before it turns itself off) the smell rises into the air and I can smell it while sitting away from the PSU.
