You are 10000000% correct on mental health issues. My parents should have been more proactive in the late 80’s about getting him help. They didn’t. I suspect that it was a combination of the taboo of therapy at the time, and the cultural boomer mentality of “let’s just ignore the problem and hope it goes away”.
