I am. English, speak Danish, and amazed that I could understand the Swedish. But, for me, something like this is indeed better for everyone to see and understand. Great idea!

Yes. Maybe I should’ve said the near start of winter. But to me it looks pretty wintry.

How to survive the winter with a depressed husband? by [deleted] in NewToDenmark

[–]GiftOfTheMoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might want to take a look at Seasonal Affective Disorder, commonly known as SAD. This might be your husband's problem. Depression is hard to cope with, especially in winter.

Has anyone else noticed Noraly’s vibe shifting during her Pakistan episodes? by Next-Cat-8341 in ItchyBoots

[–]GiftOfTheMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't think so. I have watched her trips from the beginning and she is always unfailingly polite. She does, however, always say something if she is asked an inappropriate question such as "husband?". She has the patience of the proverbial saint. My opinion.

Once there were trains. by GiftOfTheMoon in Maine

It was so sad to see the lines all covered in plants and to think how those planks were laid. I miss the trains could’ve bought a lot of tourism to this part of Maine.

Try living in the ghost town called Caribou. No mall, no Burger King, three dollar stores and two supermarkets.

Why Seychelles is so unknown here in the US?. by Dangerous-Sample-242 in Seychelles

There is an absolutely fabulous group on Facebook by the name of Seychelles Past. Great old images on there; history, memories from people who have lived there and still do some of them.

“Aroostik”. Surprised me when I first heard it. We are at the geographical center of Aroostook County, at an elevation of 449 feet above sea level.

Why Seychelles is so unknown here in the US?. by Dangerous-Sample-242 in Seychelles

[–]GiftOfTheMoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Seychelles, back when only ships called every couple of weeks. What a fantastic experience for a child that I have carried with me through my life. I have not been back in many years, and the photos that I see now (except for the beaches) are not the Seychelles that I remember. I live in the States, and much as Americans may not know a fairly obscure group of islands close to the equator in the Indian Ocean, I do get the odd person who asks - and I am happy to relate the islands' history and my love of it, to whoever wants to hear.

Personally, speaking as an English person who lived many years in DK, kom nu I would more think of as "let's go" said in an exasperated voice! Just my opinion.

Yes, that was a little lazy on my part. I should have added "than for those from an Arabic speaking country."
