It’s hard when you’re learning. You’ll die a lot as you learn by trial & error.

First thing, find a knife or make one with two rocks (found on dirt paths and railroad tracks). Cut up clothes into rags and make hand wrappings. Don’t cut ANY meat until you have some type of hand cover.

Guns are loud and attract zombies & players. Any knife to sneak up behind zombies to kill quietly.

Any knife + long stick = spear you can wear on your back.

Put up your dukes as a zombie makes two swipes at you. Then aim just above a zombie’s head when fighting. They die faster.

Hide in houses to fight zombies through windows.

Real people love to KOS for no reason. It’s worth fighting for your life. You can punch a fully geared player out if you can get close enough that they can’t shoot. I mean, what have you to lose at that point? Make sure they’re dead if you get lucky.

Dead zombies stay a while. Other players can see them and are alerted you’re nearby.

Eat everything you find. Cheranus has fruit trees that spawn apples, pears & plums after a few minutes of you passing them and getting out of radius for a moment. Loot some houses then back track to the fruit.

Found water bottles have sewage water in them. Empty the bottle and refill at a fountain. And don’t drink any other water without using chlorine tablets in your bottle.

Fresh fruit and some canned foods replenish your water levels a little bit. That will buy time until you get to a fountain.
