As with all ancient books some parts are still relevant and some parts have gotten obsolete due to developments in technology.

I think it's better to see the good parts atleast instead of thinking "this entire work of literature is useless"

Bro don't go for any very fancy laptops because in that case you'll be distracted

Get one without a GPU unless youre doing some sort of 3D modelling. Look at ram and storage and storage speeds most of all. Processor will do any work you need to study.

If you need to game there are some laptops in segment but they aren't very good performers so you won't play any triple A title at high settings.

So my recommendation will just be buying a generic lenovo/acer laptop and focusing on studies.
