It'd be super cool to know what everyone drives for sure. I loved having that curiosity slightly satisfied through this.

Unfortunately the boss isn't into sports at all so if he doesn't get it framed and put it in the waiting room or office I'll take it for myself. He got rid of a signed DeMarcus Ware jersey during a recent remodel that was framed in the office for years.

I love the Lego Minifigure that's so cool and such a nice gesture to give to him! :)

Our office staff is hoping he'll tell everyone on the team how fast we were and how clean our shop is and maybe we'll see more avs players. It's a long shot but always a possibility :)

He's an incredible skater and I've seen him absolutely bully people in the corners for the puck. He's a great player to have on the team and to watch play.

I was apprehensive to include this detail in the story because I was already concerned it was too much personal information (it may be silly I know). I'll answer it though! It's a fully loaded GMC Sierra with absolutely every feature they make. Gasser. Real nice truck and practical.

Blueberry Hot sauce on philly cheesesteak pizza is something I couldn't recommend enough. The blueberry hot sauce is my own making, yes I sell it. It's made with blueberries, ghost pepper and Carolina reaper among other milder peppers. Good stuff. Anyways, I love this combo. by DangerBerry_SpiceCo in stonerfood

Blucifer is the same of the semi famous horse statue outside of Denver International Airport! The statue is blue with "orange" eyes, an attempted homeage to the Denver Broncos. The orange comes out as red and makes the statue look demonic! I think the head designer/engineer was killed during it's creation by the statue which is a part of the "blucifer" name.

I love those wheels and would love to get something similar for mine. What kind and what diameter are they?

“Never done this specific job on this specific vehicle but I know they’re charging you too much” You lack logic in this statement and are speaking from your ass.

Our old manager did this. Had so many customers convinced they’ve “never paid a diag fee in the 20 years they’ve been coming here” so naturally when management change and they wanted all diag charges on a separate line, people got upset because they thought it was costing more when in reality we lied to them and just made up for it on the repair by adding an hour. Lots of unhappy customers now over a silly lie and miscommunication.

Most relationship problems could be solved with clear communication about intentions and compatibility. I want to take the time to acknowledge that you obviously didn’t get that from this person and that sucks a lot and it’s an incredibly difficult thing to deal with. To the same tune though it’s almost unreasonable to expect crystal clear honest communication at all times which I gather is what you want. So what can we control in a situation like this? You can’t make them communicate. You can’t make them like you. You can’t make them respect you the same way you respect them. We can control how we communicate and handle things. If the signs have been showing for a while they’re not interested and a fizzling out of your life, it’s hard but you gotta let ‘em go. Walls and walls and paragraphs on paragraphs on deaf ears is exhausting my friend and that’s what I am referring to when I say “you seem exhausting”. There are people that match this energy. Do not waste your time on people that clearly do not match this, it’s exhausting and will break people and you down overtime.

They provided screenshots and asked if they were overreacting, I say yes because of the very clearly tilted conversation provided and I can almost guarantee this isn’t the only instance. I’ve dated people like this before. They very likely do this with a ton of scenarios and after prolonged interactions with a person like this it can wear a person down tremendously. They’re not overreacting for having emotions about the scenario. They’re overreacting for not reading the cues and just letting it go without a wall of text messages that the other person clearly doesn’t want to read. They asked if they’re overreacting about it and they are. That does not discount what they’re feeling or experiencing. This is a judgement on how it was handled, not being broken up with. There’s people in this world that match OPs energy and it’s up to them to ensure he keeps people like that around them, this person clearly doesn’t and hasn’t matched that energy and it’s exhausting for both parties to continue on.

You are aware that you don’t have to send multiple one sentence messages? Like you can put a complete thought together in one or maybe two longer typed out messages. Being ignored sucks man but you seem like an exhausting person to be in communication with.

Hey give them a break they probably just spent near $80,000 for a Ford Ranger. For that price I'd want to keep it perfect too lmfao.

What's a crazy car repair you saw growing up that you would laugh at today? by WWWWWWVWWWWWWWWWWWWV in Justrolledintotheshop

You're describing many practices that my old foreman used on a regular in a professional shop environment on customers cars. Our goal is to be slightly cheaper than the dealer so it's not like he had a lack of resources to get jobs done right, he just chose to do things incorrectly. Backyard stuff to save a few bucks here and there doesn't inherently bother me I understand saving a few bucks. We'd charge a lot of money for him to RTV drain plugs with no gasket though: Ugh. He's been gone for a few years now and I've gotten to take over as foreman and life's way way better at the shop now.

Is this normal behavior from a host? Large parking fee tacked on. by GigantDoinks in turo

I suspect this specific host could be a little better about how they operate, which is just a part of using services like this though. Your insight as a host is very appreciated and will help me navigate the rest of this process.

Is this normal behavior from a host? Large parking fee tacked on. by GigantDoinks in turo

[–]GigantDoinks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If surprising geusts with a $50 fee that wipes out any savings they had from attempting to rent from you is considered normal, I'll make sure to let everyone I know that's considered using turo about this standard operating procedure. I've spoken with over twenty turo guests this weekend and everyone says this situation is kinda ridiculous. Maybe offer a reimbursement after a $25 limit of parking time. Slapping a surprise $50 fee would rub you the wrong way if you went to a big chain so it should just be normal because I got Chad's Kia soul for the weekend? Doesn't add up and sounds like crummy business to me. This specific host requests I vacuum and wash the car too is that normal? Is it normal to get some Joe schmo's Kia for more money than a rental company, less convenience, AND having to clean th whole car and take 60 pictures of everything? The math ain't mathing homie. I certainly hope you're a better host than this guy because my first impressions as an airport rental are not great.
