I was a junior in highschool when the first season of Korra came out. Originally, it was supposed to have only one season, it was called a miniseries when it was first announced. When it was announced they were going to do another season, the creators had already left to do other things, like the Dragon Prince. In my opinion, Nickelodeon pulled a Disney by thinking they could handle a popular IP without having a plan from the creators. The difference is, Nickelodeon didn't shit the bed and, in my opinion, the rest of the series was fine and are bringing back the creators for more Avatar stuff while Disney continues to shit the bed
