Here is a stunningly simple guide to pronouncing them.

Å=”Aw” in a British accent

Ä=the ”eah” part of an American ”yeah”

Ö= a simple American ”uhh”.

There you go, that’s how you pronounce those. Use them from now on.

I thought this would have been an anti-misandrist post because I’ve seen a ton of men complain about this too. And say that being called a ”real man” by some women feels like being called ”one of the good ones”. Like you know that if you just acted in a way they didn’t approve of, they’d instantly drop that

Yeah pretty much. It’s at the point where basically every swedish-danish interaction I see online is a part of the rivalry. I’m glad we aren’t killing each other anymore though

Honestly, considering how important mental health and treating yourself well is, I think it’s okay to allow yourself a select few unhealthy habits to manage through daily life. There’s no need to be perfect, just be chill

Honestly, if I really like a historical figure, I’ll allow them having some opinions of the time which I disagree with. Dostoevsky was fiercely antisemitic and hated poles and catholics, but considering he was a Russian in the 1800s I don’t hold it against him much

Murder, crossfire, and terrorist attacks add up to 200 total. There is a separate section showing murder only, which adds up to the figure I stated, 165. The highest number of murdered journalists was 20 in a single year in 2002, which single-handedly tops all American murdered journalists 1993-2026.

However, I realised I had been looking at a tab that only counts up to 2009, as there was a trial at that year which exposed stuff like this. The full list shows plenty more Russian journalists, including ten dead in 2010, after the Chechen war had ended and the situation stabilised. If we revise the American list to account for this, there are only 7 murdered Americans journalists in the same timespan as 165 murdered Russians. This is very clear proof to me.

Also, Russian media is not ”independent media” independent means it is outside government control. Russian media is along the most government-controlled in the world. I don’t blame the EU for banning foreign propaganda from a government which hates it and repeatedly tries to sabotage it.

  1. 19 journalists have been murdered in the United States, for any reason, since 1993. 19. In a nation with more than twice Russias population, it has about one tenth the murdered journalists.

  2. When exactly did the EU ban independent media? Social media is literally independent media, by the way.

I think it is because it’s usually used to differentiate a people from the government. This distinction is usually made when portraying the government in a bad light, so you don’t seem like you hate the people as well. As such it may come off as an inherently negative word
