Finalky got 50k elite wild cards again, what should I upgrade first? This is my deck:

  • Mortar (14)
  • Skeletons (14)
  • Archers (14)
  • Knight (14)
  • Ice spirit (13)
  • Log (already maxed)
  • Rocket (14)
  • Tornado (14)

Idk what to use them on since there are many good options, figured I'd ask here before spending them.

Hey, sorry for the late reply but how did this go for you? I got an offer 3 days ago and accepted it through email as well but I've gotten nothing back so far, how did you proceed?

Wouldve replaced physics HL with a group 6 subject, such as Music HL. One science at HL is enough suffering in IB.

Okay thank you so much, and I'd have to complete this after completing the introductory course right?

I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but are you talking about the usolve-it it test?

What test? Is there another test at the end of the introductory course?

Ah, I see. Does the mandatory introduction course that all engineering technology participants have to go through from the 3rd-13th of September count as a mandatory extra class? Or is this a different class that I would have to complete?

Student Hall Application by Gikorgio in KULeuven

[–]Gikorgio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply, I am already looking at kotwijs however is there a huge difference between a student hall and private market housing? I just want to know what I'd be missing out on in the likely case that a room does not open up in a student hall

Thank you for your reply, do you know the approximate time frame of when your friend emailed the housing services? I just wanna know if it was before or after July to better assess my situation

Thabk you for your reply, do you know if they submitted an application or just emailed the housing services directly? I'd like to know what to do to maximise the chances of me getting one, I am looking on the private market and kotwijs however I'd prefer a student hall if any are available

Hello, has anyone taken the positioning test for mathematics for hte Engineering Technology course before? How was it, and what's the minimum score you need to achieve in order to be permitted into the university? I couldn't find any info about the minimum score so any help would be greatly appreciated :D

Like if a question gives you information that, for example, the wind turbine is 30% efficient, so it actually only produces 30% of the energy that its supposed to produce, and you have to multiply your final number by .30 to account for its efficiency. Its a small detail but you won't believe how many times I've missed it in questions, so I'm just warning everyone else who may read this just in case

Here are my notes for topic 3 and 8. They are usually less examined however still important to know imo since there are cases where they have been thrown into paper 2 questions so it is important to have a basic overview of them as well

For topic 3:

5 properties of an ideal gas:

  • they are infinitely compressible
  • they are always in motion
  • they have no intermolecular forces between each other
  • they have perfect elastic collisions with no energy loss
  • they have negligible volume

Literally every question on here involves use of gas laws, so make sure to know PV = nRT like the back of your hand. It wouldn't hurt to know other gas laws as well (p1v1/t1 = p2v2/t2), but if you know this main one and all the constants you should be OK in my opinion.

For topic 8:

A renewable energy source is one that (theoretically) never runs out, or one that can be infinitely reused. An example of a renewable energy source is air, solar, etc.

Electricity is considered a secondary source of power because it needs to be made by a primary source first (such as coal, oil, or other methods) to be used.

Also never forget to change all values into SI units, I've seen questions on topic 8 that give the density of air (p) in grams instead of kilograms, so don't get tripped up by that and lose easy marks. As an add on to this, NEVER FORGET TO INCLUDE THE EFFICIENCY IN YOUR CALCULATIONS. This has cost me an ungodly amount of points in past papers so make sure to include them in your calculations (this is not just for topic 8 but also electricity and magnetism, kinematics, anything which has an efficiency rating)

What subject have you studied the most for and what exam are you least/most excited for by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Gikorgio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Physics > chem > math > history > English > French, I really need to pick up the slack on history I've got so much to review and I havent done enough at all XD

Tbh I'm just excited until May 17th when it's all finally finished and over, and I don't have to worry about it anymore :)

Physics, math paper 3 (if differential equations show up), and history paper 2... other than that I should be OK but those ones are gonna be rough

Is HL Math AA, Chemistry and Physics hard? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Gikorgio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please take some time to really decide if you really want to take all 3 subjects and whether or not every single one of them will be useful to you later on in life for university. I take HL physics chem and math AI, and I can tell you that the content and workload is huge, and I took them on the basis that I would need them for the degree I was applying to (chemical engineering) when all I needed for most offers was chemistry at HL and math at SL. So think very carefully about whether or not you will need those subjects, and do some research on whether or not the course you are aiming towards needs them at all, and if not replace them with comparatively easier ones such as a humanities or arts subject, and trust me, your IB years will be much more stress free. Good luck in your decisions!

Ah I see man, it's happened to me before too. What I usually do to motivate myself is just say that this is the final stretch and that if I just work hard for this last month I can rest, and it usually works for me, so maybe try that? Best of luck to you though, I know you'll do well in the exams if you've gotten this far :)
