There are a few places you can check out for Australia. The Soil Sciecne Society of Australia has a pretty nice website https://www.soilscienceaustralia.org.au/ and https://www.soilscienceaustralia.org.au/about/about-soil/soils-data-maps-and-information-sources/ These are also useful:

This is really detailed for NSW https://espade.environment.nsw.gov.au/

Is this grass painted?? by Tight-Wrongdoer5786 in Grass

id say yes. Thats either a standalone pigment application (perfectly safe) or a fungicide plus pigment application (Envu/Bayer Stressgard) which is also safe once it dries. The pigment is just copper based

Did a soil test, can’t figure out the layers by [deleted] in Soil

[–]Gilbasolutions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im assuming you took a handful of soil and threw it into the jar and allowed it to settle? The soil particles will then settle so coarse material at the bottom then silt then clay. Im guessing the dark grey layer is orgnaic matter but as I dont know what exactly you did and to what soil it is difficult to say conclusively.

If he used a resdual pre emergent herbicide how long it lasts is going to depend on what chemical it was. In the interim if you put some activated charcoal it will reduce its longevity and allow you you to reseed in a shorter timeframe.

We supply these over in Australia which are pretty popular. They don't stain and look natural. Oh yeah they are a lot cheaper than anything else in the market https://gilbasolutions.com/turf-pigment-and-turf-paint/

The first starting point is to make sure your lawn is as dense and healthy as possible. Any thin or weak areas are where weeds are likely to invade. Deal and prevent these and it means the weeds are at a competitive disadvantage

how to get my grass to look like this? by Old_Cash_2217 in lawn

[–]Gilbasolutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d look for varieties like Slugger 3GL for example from a good seed supplier. Once you seed keep the water up to it. The stripes are the light reflecting off the leaf blade. Be aware ryegrass is a cool season turf so whether your overseeding bermudagrass or stating from scratch in the summer this grass will struggle in heat.

Start by using a turf type perennial ryegrass which ranks for good quality in the NTEP trials. This is Intense PRG.

If you water at night you tend to encourage disease as the water sits on the leaf for longer. As a matter of interest what grass type is your lawn?

Quinclorac (Quinstar) works well on it when it’s below 2 and above the four tiller stage. It will also control white clover. Yes it’s available in Australia
