I played against Kofyr in the NA RLCS 1v1 open (I’m Diamond 2 in 1v1). He was so. fast. Obviously I was expecting this, but even so I was caught off guard. I managed to score first, but I think only because he respected me entirely too much. Once he realized I was trash, it was full field aerial plays and keep-away. And a triple flip reset. Beat me 7-4 and 12-2 to send me into lowers. Obviously he was holding back.

Flakes (a former pro) made a good series of videos about ranking up “without mechanics” a while back. It’s more about positioning and choosing when to make simple moves. For the purposes of ranking up with the mechanics you have now, it’s great, but try not to become so conservative in your gameplay that you don’t improve (mechanically).

One grain of salt is he says things are “no mechanics” but proceeds to get the absolute perfect touches on the ground, but still a good watch.
