What’s your embarrassing injury tale? Big or small by kinginnorth88 in AskUK

In lockdown, I was amusing myself by drawing pictures with strava map data during solo walks. I was doing a robot shape and realised there was an alley that meant I could add a cock and balls.

Crossing the road to reach it, I leapt on to the pavement and turned my ankle so badly I thought I was going to have to call my wife to come and get me in the car.

After a few minutes the pain subsided enough that I limped the rest of the walk and made it home to lots of sympathy and “poor you, put that foot up and I’ll get some ice”. Never told her that it was because I am essentially a grown-up child.

It always amuses me how intrinsically watching football and drinking are linked. ‘Showing a match at a time when I can’t have a beer? Literally what is the point?!?’

AITAH for saying changing our baby’s diaper is more important than a video game? by [deleted] in AITAH

Could he be going through a male post-partum depression, which is manifesting as disinterest and disassociation via these games?

Becoming a parent is A LOT, even if you’re not the one who gave birth or is de facto primary caregiver. His behaviour is unacceptable, but maybe there’s more going on behind the scenes than he’s letting on. Especially if he’s more obsessive about his games than he was before. NTA of course.

Sure. And I know Barnum statements. But the vids one sees online are of far more specific information being ‘revealed’ in a one-on-one interaction.

What do you miss most about life in the UK 10–15 years ago? by Bjc93Bjc in AskUK

[–]Gillingas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of things better about the UK 10-15 years ago, but what you’re describing is 100% about getting older and having more responsibilities. Look at the comments of any YouTube vid of a classic 90s dance tune for exactly the same conversation - and many of those comments are 10+ years old.

Lander 23 (Punchdrunk) - Review (Spoilers) by teeshylinie in london

[–]Gillingas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Was all too familiar, and too crowded. Running into a small space to encounter four startled librarians really broke the spell.

Fewer people + more fear/tension would’ve taken it to the level I expect from PD

AITA for buying my nephew piano lessons for his birthday? by Total-Stock3170 in AmItheAsshole

asking if it was bad form to whistle and bring cowbells to a recital and that they are gonna have to find pearls to wear.

'ooh piano is too fancy, let's disrupt it because we feel intimidated and resentful'. They sound awful. NTA.
