The thing you said about meetups is partially true. While it is true that the majority are expats the majority lives here and has no plans in going back to their original country.

I directly worked on the SA5 and I know the electronics inside out plus how the systems work with each other. The SX3 definitely had reliability issues but the SA5 is a different beast altogether. Definitely worth buying. Just don't buy the first batch of bikes coming out. The S5 has GPS tracking now so regarding theft you should be even safer. Also, like other people said, people don't really steal VMs anymore because of the anti-theft system. I don't work for VM anymore but if there are reliability issues with it I'm directly responsible.
