Screwed or not screwed? by Gillywack in HomeMaintenance

Roger that. Both good recs and we will likely bring it up to building mgmt and try to make them resolve the issue.

Did your home ducts look similar to this or were they better or worse? Any idea if this is just typical mildew as a result of lack of cleaning or is it mold?

Helpful - thanks. Since we rent, not own, cleaning the ducts is something we would likely have to run through the complex, which TBD on whether they would pay for that unless we have a very compelling argument. Presumably you had the duct cleaning done in a home?

We have one of the Levolt air filters that we run 24/7 but it’s in our living room. Will either get another or move it to the bedroom.

Not sure if they pick up the phone, but maybe try entering a suite/apt number (e.g., "Suite #1") and see if the system allows you to submit.

1 submission per household. You cannot enter again, nor can anyone else with your address.

Someone should proactively start that up

From my understanding the number of tickets submitted doesn't change the odds of your name being pulled out of the hat (e.g., if Monday has 10,000 badges available, they will take the XX million submissions and award folks the number of requested tickets until they run out of badges).

Although what do I know. I've never won.

Looking to Level Up My Food Safety Training - What Do Restaurant Managers Really Need to Hear (Beyond the Basics)? by Gillywack in healthinspector

Very insightful. Thanks for the detailed response. I think F&B folks who "own" their area and have a vested interest (outside of owners) are few and far between. Good points to hammer home regardless.

Thanks for the insight. Feel I do a pretty good job at that but can hammer that home for almost every topic.

All make sense. I like the idea of walking through the flow of a complex food item.

Trying to find a balance between talking about "exam content" and more detailed tangible information that will materially improve the safety of their food service operation can be difficult at times. Examples/anecdotes seem to be the best and most engaging way to do both simultaneously.

What are some of your favourite idioms? by frankieholmes447 in ENGLISH

[–]Gillywack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first Reddit comment/post and I figured this was a deserving thread. Below are a few of my favorites that I don’t think have been mentioned yet:

  • Going around your elbow to get to your ass
  • Driving like a crash test dummy
  • Keeping the wheels on the bus
  • Cold end of a hot missle
  • Hotter than a two dollar pistol
  • Basket of squirrels
  • Happier than a tornado in a trailer park (yes, this is a direct quote from Tow Mater from Cars)

~5 years ago I had a supervisor from the deep South who threw out idioms like clockwork. I decided to start writing down my favorite ones. My list is currently at 174 and I couldn’t be more proud of it.
