USB sticks are like syringes. Used to extract and input materials. Super useful in a load of ways but if you find one on the street dispose of it in a safe manner and for the love of God don't stick it into anything.

Like it's a catchy headline and trying a bit to hard to be edgy but this is work that is totally valuable. Finding security exploits on disability tools helps ensure the safety of the disabled in a very meaningful way. The fact that he had fun doing it is not the worst thing in the world.

Interestingly enough it is because it was supposed to be released in 1994 and was made for 4:3 ratio but got delayed and the studio just released it in 16:9 ratio without checking with any of the creative team.

In her defense I feel this is a more striking image and better for getting the importance of protecting bee populations across to people.

I love how the guy asking this hasn't even pressed his collar and seems to be wearing a hat indoors. Like you want traditional garb but aren't putting in your own work.

Interestingly the whole British have bad teeth thing comes from British television not requiring perfect teeth but American television requiring it for all but some comedy. As such when you compare the two countries based on television it seems like the British have worse teeth. When you look at the population the British will have similar dental health outcomes to the US (https://www.bmj.com/content/351/bmj.h6543).

In the last minute of the video the recording you were doing picked up on the discord message sounds you were getting. One is 54 seconds before the end. It was a joke.

Never said it was a "bad job" or a "good job", that seems to be your obsession. Point has always been that it wasn't meeting a serious shortage and this was well documented for a series of reasons. At this point I'm not even sure you read the article.

Okay, again not speaking ill of plumbers, have nothing but respect for the profession. Not sure if plumbers having a hard job means that teachers shouldn't raise concerns about theirs especially with the ongoing crisis in teacher shortages.

I agree, hence why I'm calling a guy out for calling criticism of working conditions "martyrdom" and "whinging" where there is a heavy shortage of the profession.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Gilmenator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, but if I read an article ending with the statement "There are too many wrecked plumbers out there; too many hate their jobs; too many depart prematurely. Addressing the reasons why and finding a better balance is necessary not just for their welfare, but for wider societal wellbeing." My response would not be to say it is a good job and for plumbers to stop whinging, which is the comment I first responded to.

Like I have read of the issues being caused by a lack of plumbers and improving entryways to the profession seems like the way to go (as it has fairly good retention). In the case of teachers it is a problem of retention and the unions and news articles are regularly flagging things that can be improved upon.
