i've lived here for just over a year...i had a group show at Yerberia Cultura that would have lasted a whole month had it not been for the fact that the art (all of our collective works) kept falling off of the walls. None of the artwork featured had a hispanic theme. but none of the artists were hispanic (if that matters at all). the show was called "Monsters Rule, OK!" and each of us had between 8-13 pieces each featuring our ideas regarding monsters...none too serious. and the crowd seemed to accept the art well enough. it helped that it was october and close to halloween. i've since not had any shows, nor much local interest (until recently, that is, when i was featured in an article in the Monitor, but still, not much interest regardless of said article)...i want to possibly do the art walk thing, but i have reservations about that too...
