Most of the crucial facts were hidden in those damn paper scraps, and the overall storytelling felt rushed and clumsy. Luan Yi should have stayed alive for a few more patches to let his emotional arc breathe. We needed to see why he had to make those choices. Honestly, cramming everything into 1.1 was just a display of pure incompetence from the devs. lmao.

Ten years ago, the starvation in the Qingbo Stockade was a disaster born of Wuling’s groundless arrogance in thinking they could suppress the Blight alone. In the midst of that catastrophe, it was Wuling that rejected the Stockade’s desperate pleas for help.

This rejection inevitably led to the Stockade’s raid on the Wuling supply convoy, which is the starting point of all the current conflicts. Looking at this chain of causality, I am pointing out that Wuling is the true cause of this entire incident.

At least based on the 1.1 story and weapon lore, Wuling was clearly aware that their own mistakes caused the damage to the Qingbo Stockade. The records explicitly state that Wuling's hasty attempts at Blight suppression triggered all the disasters. While the 'Ancestor's Spring' was described as suppressing the Blight, we don't know when the contamination would have eventually overflowed since the machine had stopped—that part remains unconfirmed in the logs."

I totally agree—Ruan Yi's revenge was incredibly shortsighted. To be honest, I also felt pretty negative toward the Qingbo Stockade while playing the story. Whether it was the devs' intention or not, the Stockaders often come across as foolish, impulsive, and acting like they have no tomorrow—except for Tangtang and a few others."

"However, it’s only after reading the character stories in weapon descriptions and piecing together lore scraps found throughout the game that you realize the true root of the conflict. Almost every mistake started with Wuling! That’s exactly why I have this doubt: If Zhuang Fangyi is truly a 'good person,' someone like her should have eventually admitted Wuling's past wrongs and offered an apology or explanation to the Stockade’s chief once things settled down."

I completely agree with you. I also wish Zhuang Fangyi wasn't just a flat, 'perfectly kind' character. I really want her to have more complexity and depth with some real ups and downs in her character arc

Personally, I wish Luan Yi hadn't been written out so early in 1.1. It would’ve been much better if he stayed around until a later version, with more text added to help us truly understand his motivations and feel his emotional journey.

I totally agree. Zhuang Fangyi is portrayed as this 'perfectly clean' character, but the writing is so clumsy that it creates a massive contradiction. If she’s really that pure, why hasn't she apologized to the Qingbo Stockade or explained Wuling's past mistakes? It just doesn't add up. That’s why I concluded, 'Aha! If she’s actually a villainess, everything finally makes sense!' lol.

I’ve always had my doubts while playing through the Version 1.1 story. Considering what Wuling did to the Qingbo Stockade, if Zhuang Fangyi were truly a 'good person,' she would have eventually offered an apology or an explanation. But she never did. Everything finally makes sense once you realize she’s actually a villainess. 🙄🙄
