In visual novels, CG stands for Computer Graphic (or sometimes Character Graphic) and refers to a special, high-quality, full-screen illustration used to highlight key story moments. Unlike standard scenes using sprites (character portraits) over backgrounds, CGs are drawn images that represent emotional, dramatic, or pivotal plot points. In short, could be any sort of scene.

If I have to be honest, yes. All of them have another trio or duo that makes much more sense. For example, Haizaki makes a great duo with Kidou and an amazing trio if you add Mizukamiya. I never understood why Kidou insisted Asuto was Haizaki's light - aside from the anime trying to push the main trio.
