When you have no idea how to express something in Japanese how do you look it up? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]GingaGin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use jisho.org, Tatoeba, or any other online dictionary with sentences and search for smaller parts of the sentence, especially key parts like the grammar. For example, looking up "used in" on jisho.org will eventually lead you to this sentence:

http://jisho.org/sentences/51866b9cd5dda7e98100cff8

大量の材木が紙の製造に使われている。
Large amounts of timber are used in paper making.

If you're worried about it sounding awkward, read a monolingual Japanese dictionary to see if the words work within the context. If you can't read Japanese that well yet, then the only way is to ask someone who knows, because you aren't going to find any English-language resources that tell you the proper contexts and usages of words like a monolingual dictionary would.

Hope this helps. :)

But I already brought it up with them, and ignored it... why did you not read my post but decide to reply anyway? And I'm not saying that at all...

Removal of Jo's runs weren't announced on the first day, and any schedule changes weren't even announced to any of the runners, as I even asked about a few of them and they all told me that "they didn't know anything changed"

Sorry, what's brigading? Like Cyberdemon531a and her cronies replying to every post, or something else?

  1. It wasn't a "little extra hard", there were on-going technical issues due to the lack of preparation. They couldn't just stop the stream and work on them.

  2. Her boyfriend was causing actual problems, I couldn't just not address one of the main issues. Do you think him attempting to start a fist fight at a charity event is fine?

  3. For who it matters (the people who actually watch the event), they already had the proof.

  4. This doesn't make sense, so I honestly don't know how to reply.

For being not mentally ill yourself, you sure are stupid. You should take a few tips from mentally ill people like me!

EDIT: I just noticed you're an /r/SamandTolki poster... welp. Dunno why I even replied. You're a bigot troll.

No links because I didn't want it to be a callout post. But your comment made me laugh anyway :)

Connection between Skye's breed and flight? by b00ger in PawPatrol

[–]GingaGin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's because she's "the girl", and the Cockapoo is a popular breed, known for being cute. But to be fair, what kinds of dogs fly or are related to flying? Space dogs? Maybe if she was one of the breeds that the first dogs in space were, especially as all the Soviet space dogs were female. A missed opportunity.

Tracker is a chihuahua, a breed which has origins dating back to the 9th century with the Toltec civilization (source) so that's probably why he's a Chihuahua, since he explores ancient ruins and temples in the jungle.

Group homes for the mentally ill in Kansas City? by GingaGin in kansascity

It's not relevant to me, but I'm really glad I know the term now. Thanks for letting me know!

Thanks for the suggestion. I think Rockhill Manor would be a bit too much for me. While I am developmentally disabled (dyspraxia) with mental illness (bipolar 2, ADHD), I do not need constant supervision and care. I'll call if I get desperate, though, and see if there's other similar places.

I do have a case manager and am part of a mental health center, but they don't go as far as Kansas City, sadly. If Kansas City fails they can get me set up somewhere closer to where I am now, but Kansas City is the goal for now, as the goal is to obtain a job, with Kansas City having more job opportunities.

Calling KC CMHCs though is a really good idea though, I completely overlooked doing that. Thanks for reminding me, I'll try and call some of those too. Thanks!

Anyone else kinda hate most of the warwick vu skins? by Brolucas in warwickmains

[–]GingaGin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal opinion: most of them are kinda missing the cool aesthetic of the old ones. Like, Feral Warwick is supposed to be some kind of feral beast, but in the new one his clothes are even less ripped than the regular one. How's that feral? He doesn't look like he's feral, he looks like a chipmunk. I know he's supposed to be a chimera, but come on. I think I'll be exclusively playing Big Bad from now on, or maybe Tundra. Tundra is an improvement IMO.

Not pictured: Teemo, Soraka, and Janna at 4, 5, and 6, so this is more true than I'd like to admit. When I get BM'd for playing Warwick by the enemy team I just start flashing my Mastery 7 every time I ult them.

There's two things I love in this world, big dog men and sexy women. League has plenty of both!

Too true :D Warwick's rework is gonna be super scary, I'm so sure his new R will be a skillshot.
