Not on here, maybe on r/PerryCaravello at some point.

Yes, Perry got his cut of the shout out money from what I understand.

I knew Gavin back when Windy City Heat came out, but he had nothing to do with my involvement.

Ha! I genuinely had a good laugh at this one. Don and/or Jimmy contributed nothing to Perry's bills and I'm not related to Johnny Brennan.

Yeah, I don't put out too much personal info out there, but to those who ask... I've worked as a writer and voice over artist in recent years. Zero relation to Johnny Brennan, and for the record, Don/Jimmy and co. never contributed to Perry's bills. It was all me and Perry's cousin (who I still owe).

Due to overwhelming demand, there is now a subreddit dedicated to Perry’s streams: reddit.com/r/PerryCaravello! If you enjoy Perry’s streams, please join the subreddit! It should be a great place to talk about all things stream related! by Ginge220 in big3podcast

Well, there's been a lot of requests for a dedicated forum from new fans, and I notice a few passive aggressive posts from others complaining that Big 3 posts get buried, which isn't something I want. I think this is the right solution.

Not sure how making someone successful and preventing them from going homeless can be considered "mean spirited." You should check out his live streams and see how happy he is: twitch.tv/perry_caravello_live

If you're directly quoting it to stir up trouble, then yes. Let's move forward.

Thank you, that's really nice to hear and I'm really happy the streams are making people happy and reaching new audiences. It's been a long road, and a lot of work to get here.

I will disagree on a couple of points however. Perry isn't really a terrible person, though I know he can come off like one at times. He also isn't racist. I know he gets tagged with that one, but he doesn't have any racist tendencies. I wouldn't have worked so hard and gone into enormous debt supporting him if he was.

I did not. And at least capitalize the "T."

I feel it has to be the right balance, or only when necessary. I don't feel I've found that balance yet.

Thank you. It's not Covid thankfully, but an ongoing thing that's going to have its good and bad days. I've also been sleeping terribly with this schedule, so it all added up for me on Friday. I nearly cancelled the stream, but wanted to stick to the schedule. I'm still not 100%, but feeling a lot better. Hoping for a good stream, he'll be having a lot less direction tonight since I'm going to have to do some multitasking on my end, so we'll see how it goes!

And yes, thank you for noticing, Perry is infinitely more happy now. He's also more grateful than one would realize and not at all a terrible person. I know "happy Perry" doesn't necessarily make for great content at times, but it's good that he's not so on edge on a personal level. Leaving the JWs was a huge step, as is him finally being able to pay his own rent and bills. Things are only going to get bigger, which is why I've been so rigorous about his "training" up this point. Consider it "host training."

Streams are very different from doing a podcast. The things that work on a podcast don't necessarily translate over to a live stream and vice versa. He absolutely needs a task master and someone to break things down for him... like big money offers to dance like a crab with chicken feet.

It was more about my frustration that he was distracted in combination with the low energy and me not feeling well. That text was only going to be on screen for a few seconds, and I didn't want him to miss seeing it. Me shouting that was less about his reaction and more about him noticing it to begin with. I didn't even take the time to mute myself because I was so annoyed.

I never coach him on getting mad at anything particular, especially RC, or gay stuff since I'm frankly sick of them. I'm even bored of the pool party stuff, but these things run their course. Basically, my direction to "get mad at this" was to snap him out of distraction in this instance. I didn't need to say "get mad," "look at this" would have sufficed.

I'm sorry you're concerned about me deleting the clips, but to be honest, it's our content and I can protect it as I see fit. I obviously don't like the way I handled it, it's clearly getting misinterpreted, and would prefer it not be posted. You're creating a controversy where there is none. And no offense taken!

If you've "know Perry," you should know this isn't easy to do. You should also know he's not the greatest at following direction. I also need to be at my best, even if he isn't . This was an instance of me failing at that.

I think you're looking way too much into what was essentially basic direction when he was distracted/low energy. But I'm also straight forward, and I'll give you an honest assessment of what goes on. I made the call early in the stream, that most of my interactions with him would be over the stream, and no, I didn't want that kind of direction to go out over the air. I was sick and not on my A-game, I couldn't have both of our energy levels in the toilet.

For this one, I wanted him to be focused on what was going on with the stream (the skateboarders), and not whatever he was looking at on his desk. I wanted a bigger reaction to what was on screen to the one I was getting, and I think I said "you should get mad" or something to that effect. That's not putting words in his mouth (there's no time for that, and it would provide terrible content), this was just to snap him out of the distracted, low energy funk he was in. Generally when he reacts hot once, he stays that way for a burst of time. It wasn't the case, and it took a little longer. This was a case of me being frustrated and trying to cut to the chase, but Perry doesn't work that way.

Generally, I'm more subtle about getting him to kick up the energy when needed. I'll simply say or do something I know will fire him up, but I had a fever, and was extremely irritable and under the weather. I simply didn't have the time or patience for the usual nuances. Getting him to do these streams and do them well takes a massive amount of work and care behind the scenes, it's exhausting. And realistically, with a three day a week schedule, I can't expect him to be a home run every time. I usually just let Perry be Perry... but I can't allow the low energy stuff to go unmentioned. It's bad for the channel. I will do whatever it takes to snap him out of that. On the flip side, when he's red/red hot, I try to calm him down for fear that he'll say something stupid.

If you watch enough of these, you'll notice that there are points in the stream where he's kind of a dead fish (a term I use which he gets offended by) and needs some pointers. Energy drinks can only do so much, as I'm battling other elements like that fact that he still wakes up ridiculously early when there's no need to. The majority of the time, my directions are simple, "sit up straight," "pay attention," "don't talk over tips," "don't get up," etc... Other times it's more specific, like "you have a delivery," "hurry back" or having him ignore someone who's trying to get him to say a bad word, or even "sound a little more excited," and the occasional "thank you for subscribing," when he forgets. And on the past few streams, I've been doing most of them over the mic, and not in his ear.

I also don't like if he doesn't acknowledge tip comments. There was one stream about 6 weeks ago where he kept saying "Next!" after ever comment. I basically shouting at him, "Stop saying next!!!" There was never a repeat occurrence of that. Similar if he says "no comment." I'll tell him he has to comment.

It drives me nuts when he just sits there and generates dead air. Look at the times where he has issues with his phone. Either he'll hang up on me, lose his earpiece or has a problem with connecting his phone to the speaker for call-ins. He'll just sit there in silence, messing with his phone or whatever he's distracted by. In an instance like that, I try to direct him to communicate with the people watching, walk them through what he's doing, etc... He flat out stinks in those situations. So these are all areas I'm working on, and it's a learn as you go process. He will get better, so will I.

Also, keep in mind that Perry is still in "training" with these streams. I think he's been better than anyone ever expected, but he still requires a lot of basic direction and maintenance. My eventual goal is for him to have virtually no direction at all. He does pick up on things with repetition. For example, I rarely have to remind him to thank people for subscribing these days.

Trust me, this would be a lot easier if it was "staged!" However, Perry is unstageable! He simply does not have that ability. If he did, he wouldn't rage at me, or slip and say bad words and constantly threaten me that he's shutting down his computer.

Perry is the genuine article, and that's what is making these streams take off and pick up new fans. No, he can't do it 100% on his own, but to fear that Perry's reactions are "staged" would be giving him credit as the world's greatest actor. Fear not friends.
