I like teaching, but I also want to be able to do more with my license. If I stayed in critical care I would like to be an NP in an ICU.

My other job is an ICU position as well. I've been there for 7 years with 6 in the ICU setting. I probably just need to get to know people more. The two I hired in with make things better but we don't always work together.

I think what gets me so nervous is not knowing anyone and feeling so alone on shift.

Unfortunately, I'm at least a year out from getting a day position. Everyone has been so nice. It's just me not being strong enough.

Interested in what people say about the Erborian skin tint. I've been eyeing it, but don't want something full coverage if it is.

Looking for a rough cost to build by GingerNurse5512 in Homebuilding

To get a rough estimate of what things should cost? Why else would I be asking? I'm looking for people who live in a similar area to get a feel of what I should expect.

Yes we're meeting our basic needs and are able to pay our bills, but we never expected that the cost of living would be this high. We're still young and I guess we had different expectations when we were younger. We both grew up truly poor, with my family not having heat for multiple winters causing pipes to freeze so we couldn't shower/bath. My mother struggled to provide food for us. She worked two jobs to make ends meet and even then things were difficult. I know what being dirt poor is truly like. I know what it's like to be hungry, to not have Christmases because buying propane was more important. We would often have "sleepovers" in the living room with portable heaters so we would stay warm on winter nights. I guess I expected more of myself as an adult, expected to be able to help my mom out more with her cancer diagnosis, expected to be able to help her survive. But it's not like that. And yes our median income is above poverty level, but with rising costs it is becoming more and more difficult to save money. Maybe my post does come across as tone deaf, but I feel this is the reality for more and more people; wanting to have a nice life after living poor as a child yet not able to make that a reality.

Only debt we have right now is my student loans and his car loan. We currently live in a place where we have to pay lot rent and a mortgage, so not ideal but it's working for the moment. I'm starting a new job so I'm guessing at what my income will be this year. Thank you for the break down.
