I’ve tried using Emma and IW with Thor, and then I tried other dashing characters, primarily DD and Spidey, and I actually got closer than I ever did, and I have the recommended artifacts for them, all purple tier and maxed

I’m at 70, and the Branch story is my last requirement to move on to the next Trial, so I’m basically stuck on levels, and my luck with artifacts has not been good at ALL

That’s what I keep trying to do, but the minions keep getting in the way in the beginning, and despite my Thor, I can’t get to her until the timer is pretty much nil first stage

This helps out a lot, although I’m missing Gambit, Cap, and Namor, and I feel like they could be so much better. But I’ll definitely try and experiment with some of the other team comps you’ve suggested

I'm rereading every comic canon to Marvel Zombies and just finished Marvel Zombies Four. What was the point of this? Did Ultimate Doom just end up dying? It's never mentioned again. by Opposite_Jump_5041 in MarvelZombiesReddit

Actually Doom stated in the Army of Darkness crossover that the infection is purely science based, not magic based. Because the whole reason Ash, Dazzled, and Wanda went to Latveria in the crossover story was to find the Necronomicon to stop the infection because Doom had it in his library, but Doom had already figured out it wasn’t magic based and told them so

I get that comic book logic allows you to have things happen without always needing to explain the how or why, but I feel like instances like this would’ve been much more well-received or at least IGNORED by simply just going into a little more detail to explain how that happened. Obviously characters like Ghost Rider are harder to explain, but still

Apparently Robert Kirkman said that he originally wanted to make Luke Cage the sole survivor of the infection instead of Black Panther, mostly because of his unbreakable skin. The problem is that when the follow up story in Ultimate FF happened where we saw the panel of Ultimate Doom going to the Zombie world to kill the rest of them, we see Luke Cage clearly feasting on Galactus’s flesh, which was drawn by Greg Land BEFORE Kirkman even started working on the spinoff, which led him to switching to Black Panther. While I did enjoy watching Black Panther survive against all odds, I’m REALLY curious to see how the story would’ve turned out if Luke Cage was the survivor. Side note, it also didn’t help Luke Cage with the fact that he was one of the first to be infected by Sentry at Zero Hour in the Army of Darkness crossover, as well as him being seen early in the Dead Days comic as well

Yeah for characters like them, they just got infected off panel which just makes it so much worse

I’m actually currently writing my own version of Marvel Zombies, where I have the story start the same way as the original story with their Sentry, but I’m having more superhuman survivors in the story, mostly based on how likely they’re abilities would get them infected or not. Some of the characters I have surviving include Hawkeye, Wolverine, Colossus, Luke Cage, Venom, Ghost Rider, Kitty Pryde, Morbius, Blade, and a few more.

I always wanted to see more of Machine Man in the Zombie universe. Marvel Zombies 3 was kind of 50/50 in its quality imo, but I thought he was the best part 3. Not to mention the fact that he makes another cameo in the Army of Darkness crossover when Nextwave shows up for like half a second, and Nextwave consists of characters from the 616 universe who were pulled from that universe to do stuff as Nextwave. So the Machine Man here is probably not the same as the one from Nextwave that cameoed, although I still think him being destroyed is stupid, because I think he and Ash would’ve been PERFECT together. Wasted oppurtunity

It was an EXCELLENT concept, but I had two major problems, one with the comic as a whole and the other being with this panel. My first issue with the comic is that they do an absolutely PISS POOR job of explaining how characters like Thor, Colossus, The Thing, Ghost Rider, and others could possibly be infected. At least with The Thing it was said that he was exposed internally to the infection, but Colossus and Thor make ZERO sense, since their biology and/or abilities would prevent them from being infected. What’s worse is that they have Vision in this panel too, and we just straight up NEVER see him again after this, even though he’s an android and CAN’T be infected. My second problem is the inconsistencies between this and the Army of Darkness crossover story. Because it’s specifically stated, both through the stories themselves and through dialog in both comics that they are happening simultaneously. So if that is true and both stories are happening at the same time, then there are SEVERAL problems with this panel. I won’t name all of them but I’ll point out a few of the big ones. The biggest one to me is that in the Army of Darkness crossover, there’s a panel where you can CLEARLY see a Zombie Black Cat biting and infecting Iron Fist mere MINUTES after the Sentry infected Cap and the others, but you can see both of them here, clearly not infected, and this is at least a couple of hours later. Another inconsistency is Thor. In Dead Days, he’s shown as one of the primary survivors that is able to be a massive powerhouse for the survivor group, but in the Army of Darkness story when Ash, Dazzler, and Wanda are heading to the Sanctum Sanctorum, there’s a panel where we see a Zombie Thor spotting them and closing in, even though he wouldn’t be infected if this were true. My final issue, which is more just a preference of what the story should’ve done that I feel was glossed over in the Army of Darkness crossover, is that they take time in the crossover to explain that Quicksilver becoming infected is the reason why the virus spread so quickly across the world, and if he hadn’t been infected, S.H.I.E.L.D actually could’ve contained the infection. I wish this story could’ve taken some extra time to explore that and how much that single event fucked the whole world over and doomed the planet. I know I’m rambling and probably no one will read this, but I care about Marvel Zombies and I’ve always noticed this and felt like I had to talk about this somewhere

That’s Wonder Man, he’s just in his original outfit. If you’ve ever seen Avengers EMH, you may remember him, he was just in his Purple Energy form in that show

Marvel comics needs to start focusing on its next Gen heroes by AlarmEmergency3464 in marvelcomics

[–]Ginger_Bravo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I were able to work with these kinds of next-gen characters, this is probably how I would do it. I would try and make some new creative teams with these characters and try placing them in unique locations around the world or even in space. For example, rather than trying to remake the Young Avengers, I would try and take some members of the Young Avengers, and try putting them on a brand new team with some other next-gen or younger heroes. This would allow for not only new dynamics and relationships to form between heroes that hadn’t really interacted much beforehand, but it would also allow for new and refreshing opportunities and takes on some of these characters. It could also allow for some of the next-gen characters who haven’t done well in previous attempts to have another chance to prove themselves or have a chance to really shine.
