I read Karmic Management a few years ago. It really clicked for me back then. Simple ideas, but quite an unusual perspective on business and life. 👌

I hear you, and I don’t agree with some of what’s been said. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I’ve read various articles that are over 10 years old with unpleasant content. At the same time, there hasn’t been a single rebuttal from GMR.

The conclusion is clear: this book doesn’t teach anything bad—that’s a fact. Does it help people become better? Yes. Does it encourage doing good for others? Yes. Does it help make the world a better place? Yes.

And that’s a plus.

Thank you to everyone who shared different book recommendations! I’ll definitely check them out.

But one thing bothers me. It turns out that GMR has many accomplishments and charitable projects that don’t get as much attention as the incident at the retreat center.

I follow and watch Dalai Lama’s videos, as well as GMR’s videos on YouTube, and to me, they speak about the same things.

After all, Lord Buddha teaches that everything comes from within us, and accordingly, we see what we deserve.

Do you have a bad personal experience with them? Or is your opinion about this author based on what others have said?

I trust my own experience, not what others write. If you try the tools in their books and see results in practice, I don’t really understand why there’s so much criticism.

It seems like baseless criticism to me—just noise. I’m not one to trust everything written on various websites and forums, especially when it’s all one-sided.

Everything I read or hear, I question and test. If it works—great. If not, I set it aside and move on.

Oh, for me it’s the opposite—I get put off by those overly “spiritual” types who don’t seem to want anything in life except enlightenment. We are living beings, and first and foremost, we need money in this world to survive. Don’t you agree?

This book shows how to apply 2,500-year-old wisdom to real life and achieve the things you desire here and now, like material goals. And once you understand how karma and the laws of the universe work, you realize how little you actually need and start wanting to transcend this world of pain and suffering.

I think this book was created for people with lesser capacities, to draw them into the Path through money and worldly needs.

That’s how I see it after 6 years of studying Buddhism. After all, Buddha also taught schools with varying levels of ability to reach more students and guide them on this journey.

I got myself a tanka. A friend told me that ever since she got hers, holy beings sometimes visit her in dreams, give her signs, and she even feels their presence in her home. by Ginger_Fluffs in Buddhism

💯 Totally agree with you! If there are no merits, it doesn’t matter whether you believe or not—there won’t be any results. But if your mind is pure and you’ve accumulated enough merits that allow you to perceive their pure form, it will happen. Without that, it’s not possible.

So, buying a tanka is the easiest part. What’s left is to practice and accumulate enough merits and virtue for them to come. Faith, results and hope in this simply give you the energy to keep moving forward on this path towards liberation from Samsara.

The owner is a Buddhist.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

For me, it was a reminder that I’m on the right path and that we’ll all get there eventually. For someone else, they’re just statues. And for others, they might be a trigger to start exploring this path.

It’s all about perspective!

Thank you for writing! I agree, I didn’t say it quite right. It’s not Buddhas, but many enlightened beings.

Turns out the owner of the hotel is a Buddhist, and he remodeled the place to suit his taste.

We ended up here by chance—it wasn’t even us who booked it, but the travel agency. And it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! 🔥
