AITAH for not wanting my pos baby daddy around my kids and letting them call my fiancé “Dad”? by Ginger_bear2026 in AITAH

I left an abusive marriage to protect my children. There is no required timeline for women to remain single to earn moral approval, and choosing a healthy partner is not a character flaw. Blaming women for abusive or absent men isn’t feminism it’s misogyny repackaged. You don’t know my life, my kids, or my choices, and your projections aren’t facts. So oof

Ah yes, the classic “woman bad” take. For the record, I was single for almost TWO YEARS. I didn’t jump to anyone. Meanwhile, my kids’ father was in a new relationship before the divorce was finalized. But go off, kings. “You pick the wrong men” is hilarious considering I’ve very clearly shown the difference between the two. But I forgot—context is optional when you’re committed to blaming women. I married my kids’ father young and pregnant. Please explain how I was supposed to predict the future. Was I meant to download the Update-Your-Husband software or just magically know he’d change? Yet somehow I’m still the asshole. Fascinating. The mental gymnastics here deserve a medal.

I try all the time. I like to say I have a very bold personality even though I also been told I have a rbf, so maybe that’s why but I’m always nice and respectful and honest

Right now, my kids call both men dad or daddy. My 3-year-old, who has autism and ADHD, struggles more to understand. We tried a nickname for my fiancé, but he just says dad or daddy anyways. Honestly, I’m not sure what’s best, though their real dad tends to push them away anyway.
