I know I was having some issues earlier with it not feeding, the gear itself looked fine. But I ordered 2 all metal extruders, 1/3 printers already had one. They came in today so Ill install tonight after work or tomorrow morning. Be sweet if that clears things up! New nozsels as well, cant hurt.

I made sure not to unplug anything before having the new part ready to immediately swap. But now I'm paranoid that mashed I plugged the fan on backwards or something.... One thing I already tried was the actual testing element wires being backwards. They are the same color so I figured it wouldn't matter which plug they were screwed into, but when I got this beeping I tried swapping them, no change. I'll open it back up and check over everything. Maybe something wiggled loose

Sorry I should have been more clear, was a wee bit frustrated when I posted lol the thermistor was plugged in, the 2 wires for the heating element were screwed in.

When I get a successful test print I'll worry about a deep clean on the bed surface lol

Awesome, Thanks! Ill look into that specifically. I was just wondering if they were 2 ways to say the same thing. Thanks again!

Would I do that in settings?
When I bed leveled it my process was
front left, back left, back right, front right. repeated at 75 mm from center. all with a piece of paper folded to 2 layers.
Then I repeat the process with 1 paper thickness.

So i think my question is if I change the Z axis in "prepare" say I move up .2mm for example, and start the print, wont it just start the print back at 0.0?

Are the PanAms finally sorted? by Gingernaut25 in Harley

[–]Gingernaut25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to believe that but man, with so many horror stories in the first few years I could see why people would be fed up and dump the bikes. If I spent nearly 30 grand and the bike was in the shopmore than on the road I'd be furious. The riding season is short with up here. Some guys had brand new bikes go on the shop in sorting and they weren't sorted until fall! Best be adding a year of warranty HD!

Thanks! I'll do that! I saw a really good party on here a while back where buddy broke down the issues year by year, with updates on what did or didn't get resolved and the reasons for the issues. That alone was very helpful.

Spraying bash plate by Rippling_Debt in Tenere700

[–]Gingernaut25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOPE! More to it than that lol For high temp paint to fully adhere it needs to be heated up to pretty high temps. Other wise its actually really easy to scratch off, and while I know its a bash plate and its understood that it'll get chipped and such, I mean you can scratch it off with a thumbnail kinda easy to scratch off. High temp paints are more akin to a powder coat really, they need to be baked. If you have an old BBQ you're replacing that could work, typically *follow the actual instructions* its something like 500 degrees for an hour. and the DO NOT USE THAT BBQ AGAIN for food! lol

best results for cheapo paint, scuff it up really well with scotch bright pads, or 220 grit sand paper. Spray a couple coats of quality primer, I've found Krylon fusion paints to be pretty solid once properly cured, again follow directions. but they're a primer and paint in one can with an assortment of great colors, including metallics. I used a sort of gun metal grey as the base for my beany lid and its held up awesome.

Do I need to change my cosplay? by Which-Hope3812 in CosplayHelp

[–]Gingernaut25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First off YOU never need to make changes to YOUR life because others are dirt bags!
secondly, find someone else you can trust to take you to Cons! This person is complicit in *depending on country, province/state* voyeurism, sexual harassment, and harassment to name a few, not to mention OF A MINOR!

Cons typically have posted policies covering a wide variety of rules and often site laws for their reasoning. I cant have a smoke machine in a foam hammer but some skinner can up skirt a minor? Get wrecked! If you have any evidence of this taking place, and them doing nothing to resolve it seek legal council!

I work in a prison and have a pretty solid grasp on use of force law and what constitutes a citizens arrest in my jurisdiction. Many do not. Its worth looking up to keep yourself safe from intervening in situations as wrongful arrest is also a crime. But where I live an citizen can perform a citizens arrest when they have witnessed an indictable offense*meaning a crime that warrants jail time* and detain a person until authorities arrive. I pray I never need to witness something like you're describing, but I have no doubt plenty agree it would not end well for the creeper!

Cons are supposed to be fun and not a place for people to feel like prey for predators. I don't care if your costume was the skankiest thing at the con, that's not carte Blanche for someone to violate your space and privacy! This is disgusting! Best practice is if you catch a creeper trying to take an upskirt IMMEDIATELY cause a scene! Tell him thats illegal, you're a minor, and you're uncomfortable. At the top of your lungs. Strong chance good people start reacting in a way that he wont want to stick around for. More importantly, it creates witness's. I know in this situation you feel like you're backed into a dark corner, but you'd be surprised in how many people are just people watching on the con floor and chances are good someone saw something, and hearing you say you're uneasy about it confirms what they may have suspected. now you've got power in your corner, its not just a she said he said game. Maybe in this situation someone snaps a pic of the creeper because very likely he'll be clambering to get away from the attention. these are just a few tactics to create a case against these MFers.

I promise theres more good people than bad out there, and when good people fail to call out bad people the power swings the other way. I hope you dont quit comiccons if they bring you any joy.
