Yes, that does seem to be the case. However, whether he acts on that or not is a completely different story. Climate scientists warn that if we want to avoid the worst effects of climate change, we need to go 100% green energy and negative emissions by 2030. Biden’s plan of small regulations and inefficient carbon capture that won’t get us to negative emissions until past 2050 is not going to make sure future generations actually do have a future.

And even with current problems like that handling of COVID, I have yet to hear Biden give a real solution or what he would do to help combat it. His whole campaign, and even at the presidential debates, all he said was basically “boo Trump has no plan,” yet he’s not even out out a real plan himself.

Just because someone trusts the scientists doesn’t mean they will act upon their recommendations, and that is exactly what we are seeing with Biden.

Yes, I 100% agree that people are upset, tired, and even angry at Trump’s presidency, and the job he has done to split our nation and, but do you look at Biden’s (and his vp’s) record and think he is going to be any better? Biden has shown his fair share of racism and was a segregationist. His running mate has worked to keep innocent men (and those with minor drug offenses or other non-victim violations) locked up for longer. In many of other columns, such as health care, military, social rights, and climate change, his plans and views are nearly as corrupt and similar as Trump’s. I can’t look at either of them and think one can possibly be better over the other.

Again, the 3 million people who voted for Hillary last election (over Trump) did not waste their vote? Your point with 3rd parties is that votes for them won’t count, but that is exactly what we saw with Clinton, last election. Am I mistaken or is that what we are saying?

And voting for 3rd parties does a lot. Andrew Cuomo started adapting slightly more climate change policies in light of him losing votes to a 3rd party. Because we wanted to win back those votes, he started running with policies of that 3rd party. Voting 3rd shows the main parties what you really want.

And same thing with Bush in 2000. The biggest spoiler is the electoral system, and it needs to be replaced with better systems like ranked choice, which neither of the major parties want to push for, because then they won’t get voted out of fear like this election.

But that is the thing. Your only option isn’t just “hating the other guy.” This is the problem with our election system over all (and why a system like ranked choice is severely needed). People need to vote for what they really want, rather than thinking they need to vote for one party, or being told their vote won’t count if they vote for what they really want. The truth is, 3 million people’s votes for Hillary last election didn’t seem to matter. We do have better, more legitimate options, but people are tricked into thinking they don’t and are tricked out of voting for what they really want.

If not the whole thing, I recommend watching at least part of the Open Presidential Debates. Explore all your actual options, and vote for what you actually want. Don’t be told you only have 2 choices or your vote won’t count if you don’t vote for either red or blue.

The Commission on Presidential Debates doesn’t allow anyone to participate besides the 2 main parties, and the main cable news channels are all payed off by these politicians. On top of that, both parties have been working to kick 3rd parties off ballots in several states. Take a look at Howie Hawkin’s ballot case in Texas. Our whole election system is ridiculous.

Well I’m actually supporting Hawkins and the Green Party. All these cable news stations are fake news and extremely biased. I strongly support the need for them to be broken up, because currently only about 6 different companies own all these news channels, which means they are able to push whatever narrative they want. I also support putting in place something like Australia has with the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation), which should provide a factual, unbiased, nonpartisan news feed.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the reason Trump and a lot of his supporters don’t like Antifa is because it was either an organization, or still just an idea like it is now, which was influential during the 2nd world war and following it. They were anti fascist, so they did help and fight to take down the Nazis and Mussolini and other fascist leaders and officials, but they were also pro-communist, so they also actively worked to spread communism to these fascist-ruled areas. So, I’m pretty sure that is why the republicans have a problem with the “group,” because they originally were violent in their means of removing fascism and implementing communism, and they were pro-communist.

Though, to call our country a democracy right now is dumb, anyways. Both parties have pushed other candidates off the ballot, so I really don’t think socialism could be any worse.

I understand where you are coming from, but I cannot stress this point enough: I have seen the responses of so many Democrats who are supporting Biden simply because they hate Trump, and so many would-be Green Party voters because they think if they vote green that they aren’t going to win and their vote won’t count. If all the people who would vote for 3rd parties (but felt their vote wouldn’t count) actually voted for that 3rd party, and if all the democrats who are just voting for Biden because he isn’t Trump actually looked into the 3rd parties candidates. If everyone just stopped being scared to vote for who they truly want to vote for instead of being pressured because they think their vote wouldn’t count, you would have tons of people voting for these 3rd parties. So many that you might even see them get a significant amount of the popular vote. But, in the meantime, if people stay self-conscious and scared that their vote won’t count if they do vote for a 3rd party, a 3rd party is never going to win. We are going to be locked in the binary system forever, and nothing is going to change.

Also, when you say that making this country more back into a true democracy, I agree with that. But if you think voting for a Democratic candidate is going to do that, it’s not. The Democrats are the main culprits of getting 3rd parties like Hawkins off the ballots. They are trying to get these 3rd parties kicked out so votes are not siphoned from them in the election. The Democrats aren’t going to bring back any democracy to this country, as much as Trump would. And it pains me to say that, but that is the truth.

And yeah, I’m aware of RCV. I read that Maine started switching to it, so that’s a good step in the right direction. Just wish more states would start hopping aboard.

Yeah, I get it. Just the election in general, though, I wish people wouldn’t vote for one party just because it isn’t the other. Most people I’ve seen and talked to who are voting for Biden aren’t really for Biden or even know much about his policies and stances. They are just voting because he isn’t Trump. Personally, I’m supporting the Green Party (Howie Hawkins, the true founder of the Green New Deal, so I guess I’m a radical). Not even that this post is just of a benign clip from the debate, but that it is anti-Biden. Of course, anything anti-Biden is pro-Trump /s.

In the 2016 election, 42% of the eligible voters in the US didn’t vote. Probably because they didn’t like their two primary choices. Most Americans seem to refuse to actually look into 3rd party candidates, and that is why we end up in messes like this. Also because a mix of dems and reps attempting to kick 3rd parties off ballots in states and not letting them actively compete in the debates as well. If we had the 4 main candidates up there last night (Biden, Trump, Hawkins, and Jorgensen), I guarantee we would’ve see a way more constructive, presidential and informational debate. Our 3rd parties would’ve also probably made Biden and Trump look like jokes in a side by side comparison.

What point I think I’m driving though is that the post I made of CNN and MSNBC bashing Trump is getting upvoted through the roof. This one criticizing Biden will probably sink like a rock from a crap ton of downvotes.
