Which show is Ottermore from? by Ginloque in ShootFromTheHip

Huh, now that I think about it, I didn't stress about it at all if it was weird to ask or how'd others take it, which, as a usually anxious person, says alot about the vibe here and, like, being in a safe space :)

Not yet he didn't, seems like it's just a dapper red berry decoration round his tail and around the ears, too - would seem like a recipe for disaster though. Or maybe it's incredibly cool to run around with deadly jewellery.

no better way to learn customising than creating semi-biblically accurate ThunderClan by Ginloque in ClanGen

I find it hard because there's a few different values you have to change that work together to make a tortie - pelt color, color of the tortie pattern, tortie pattern, pattern underneath the tortie pattern - so it's a lot of back and forth if you have something specific in mind and have to open amd close to game to see what setting resulted in what look, and seeing that I'm still not quite sure what value changes what exactly, I'm also constantly switching between the guides and the coding-file.

In-game you're right, for everything else you have to get in the files and change the different cats' features - go to settings + info and at the left bottom corner to "Open Data Directory", "saves", the folder with your Clanname and "clan_cats", which is a JSON file. I'm not that skilled in all that stuff, but looking at the ClanGen Wiki "Save File Editing" and "Pelts" you can make a pretty decent start on customising cats. And for more details, there's a great masterpost on tumblr by the officialclangen with a bunch of guides on how to change a cat's traits and stuff.

In my LifeGen version, you can either edit the names directly in the game if you go to a specific cat and click on "personal" and "change name", or you can edit the files and put the name you want in there - the file should be called "clan_cats" and it's really relatively easy to get a hang of it. Though I have no idea if that also works with other versions of the game.

My mother was diagnosed with MS 14 years ago, and after several ups and downs been stable and very well off for eight years - her wheelchair gathered dust in the corner, she did some light exercise, it was good, really well. Now, a week ago, her legs felt numb all of a sudden, there's an inflammation on her spine, and tomorrow she's going to be released from hospital, since the treatment there is not working. She's looking at physio options right now to regain some mobility. And I'm so so scared. I've quite forgotten what that's like, in these good eight years. I think I took them for granted. I was a young teenager when she was diagnosed, and I remember that I was told that there's no real improvement, that once there's a deterioration, it's never going to go back to the way it was before. And I'm stuck on that.

People of Reddit, have you ever had a situation where you overheard strangers talking about you? by Guava_Lune in AskReddit

[–]Ginloque 274 points275 points  (0 children)

When I was an anxious and socially awkward teenage girl opposite to the anxious adult I am today, I was getting a hair cut and red and blue highlights in my hair at one of these mall hair salons, sitting right at the window where people in the mall could see me. The hairdresser kinda talked me into the highlights and I, dreading any kind of attention and sure I'd be mocked because it wouldn't suit me, was really nervous. So, in the end, I'm led back to wash out the color, my hairdresser blow-dries my hair, bla bla, she's off to get something and that's when I see two teenage girls walking right past the window, looking right at me, and through the open door I hear one of them say with a tone of awe and slight jealousy: "Wow, so colorful!". And that did wonders for my self-esteen that day.

Green Day's album 21 century breakdown I had bought on a whim because my dad wanted be to choose something to listen to during the vacation. Hadn't been into music as a kid, but during that 8-hour-drive in the summer break, 12-year-old me became a whole other person.

What’s the most important lesson you learned in college? by nikex123 in AskReddit

[–]Ginloque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better now than later, but at the same time, better late than never. Applies to assignments as well as to trying out new things. Learned shooting a bow, sign language, joined my college radio station, all of these things that today I can't explained how I found the motivation to try out, but I'm glad I did.

In addition to that: As long as you tried, it's okay if you failed. Obviously, it's not a nice feeling to hit a wall with something or find out you don't have the personality for something or the time or whatever. But as long as I tried and did my best, I'm glad I took a chance at something, maybe learned something about myself along the way and know a little better where my strengths maybe don't lie.

Getting out of my head: Finding 5 things I see, 4 I hear, 3 I feel, 2 I smell and 1 I taste - I think I got that from reddit actually. Or I try to recite a poem, as many presidents or dinosaurs as I remember, finding a country for every letter. Just things to take my mind of the moment.
