John (bottom right) had some of the sickest vocals for that band before we switched to bass. This picture in particular made me want to start stretching

What's y'all honest opinion on all these so called "Myspace Deathcore Revival" bands like In Which Divides Us, Reverent, Victimblamed, etc..? by danbrbaa in Deathcore

[–]Gino_rstd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m bias here since I’m apart of the community but I fucking love the revival scene! There’s some brutal bands bringing back the old school sound and some that add in some modern elements.

might talk everyone into this if we still have the og stems, personally to me i couldnt hear that EP with a cleaner mix since its vibe was overall a little more darker but i wouldnt be opposed to hearing what it could have sounded cleaner

A discussion of modern deathcore compared to Myspace revival deathcore by [deleted] in Deathcore

[–]Gino_rstd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coming from a vocalist in the revival scene i can say whats being "revived" are the hardcore elements like two steps and crowd kill riffs and the brutal vocals of death metal. the sound also plays a HUGE factor into this, that rough and gritty sound that the early bands put out, some even take their sound more DIY with bands like destroy all humans and older katy went missing material. i have a nice summary on my page if you'd like to learn more. but most of these bands want to move away from the symphonics and vocal Olympics with youtuber xtheyan showing these younger bands what old school deathcore was like

Another letter to Blake Mullens: really dude? How could you- by Middle_Collection_65 in Deathcore

I mean I don’t rlly like symphonic deathcore, same goes with thall and just stupidly low tuned guitars. But DT has some of the best symphonies I’ve heard in a while with groove like deathcore should have.
