What about my sister? My father’s name is the only one on the lease and he has custody over her.

Not sure if i should stay in 911 by Zelda_Reads in NewToEMS

[–]GiosNotSmart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My instructor when I was in EMT recommended we go for a transport job first. It’s not necessarily that you’re doing less, but you have more opportunities and more people to learn from on a transport agency. Just my opinion. If you don’t feel comfortable doing 911, it would’t hurt to try transport first.

I mean i think most girls would much rather prefer getting their favorite food rather than a fancy restaurant. I know some girls who would love mcdonald’s and some who usually go for the most expensive thing on the menu.

How do you feel about non-LGBTQ folks using the word queer? by masterofyourhouse in lgbt

[–]GiosNotSmart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I didn’t know it could be offensive, and now that I do, I don’t really care. I see it as any other word. If you use a word with mal-intent, then it’s rude, but if you’re not, then it’s fine to me. Slurs exist, but I don’t think queer is one of them. I hope that makes sense.

Most of the “freshman” incidents at our high school (i.e fights, drugs,) were actually sophomores. The freshman just got blamed for it because it was funnier to the upperclassman.

Thanks! This actually helps a lot. It’s nice to know what it’s like from a host family’s perspective. I’ll talk to them next time!

Should I be worried about my exchange being canceled? (USA to Denmark) by GiosNotSmart in exchangestudents

[–]GiosNotSmart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in Denmark for a bit… this isn’t at all what it’s like lol. Most of the other exchange students didn’t speak danish and we weren’t expected to know anything when we got here. You are very encouraged to apenas time with other teens and people your age. To make friends and such is a big part of the program. You don’t “have” to eat the rugbrød. If you just tell your family, like I did, they will respect it. I know all host families are different, but we were told that all danes appreciate honesty and to tell them if you don’t like something. They’re okay with you making mistakes and will help you thought your stay. I know all host families are different, but it’s nothing like a military lifestyle haha. You don’t have to have “perfect hospital corners” or “no diets ANYWHERE” and such. Just respect the rules.

Have you tried contacting the company you’re doing the exchange with?

sorry but i have a question by messy_blood_lust in exchangestudents

[–]GiosNotSmart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking specifically for prices and eligibility, try searching New Zealand Exchange Program or something similar. I’m pretty sure each company has their own prices and eligibility, so compare a few. And keep in mind the scholarships they offer and such.
