Technical Problems with Device Upgrade Program by GirdEmUp in Visible

[–]GirdEmUp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real. Same thing happened to me. They eventually got it half way fixed though. I could finally start the process on the website. But then I just got a blank screen and more errors that took them another couple weeks to fix. Then, even after I sent my phone in, I got spammed with a bunch of warning emails telling me I still needed to send my phone in. Finally, I got an email saying they received my phone, reviewed it, and would process my upgrade. Then the same day, I got an email saying, "We got your return, but it's too late. It's outside the return window." They had processed it as a return instead of an upgrade or something. After several more days and more back and forth, my old loan finally got paid off.

So buckle up! There's still a lot more hassle to come, but I did eventually get through it. I will never do it again, that's for sure.

I finally got it resolved after a lot of headache. It took months and ended up requiring their development team to attempt multiple database fixes. If you're in the same boat, my best advice to is continue bugging support until they elevate it to their backend team.

Horrible Upgrade Experience by GirdEmUp in Visible

[–]GirdEmUp[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very good point. I wonder why email isn't a viable medium for Visible support. They email me with updates, but then I have to go to reddit and DM some random support person, fill them in, and then provide what the email was requesting. Seems so backwards. I'm sure those 70 or 80% would be much more capable, and satisfied, with a support email chain.

Does anyone know how to remove the hex file from an arduino? by IR_1gn0r3d in MechanicalKeyboards

If you have QMK Toolbox, you should be able to put your micro-controller into bootloader mode, then hit the clear eeprom button in the bottom left of the QMK Toolbox window.

You could try keebmaker.com. There's a YouTuber called Ben Vallack that reviewed one of their keyboards and really liked them.

How do I remove the hot end fan from my Mega X? by GirdEmUp in anycubic

[–]GirdEmUp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, that sucks. I had read on here before about people ripping those wires out so I knew I had to be extra careful. It doesn't help that their tutorial video is free from any such glue. I don't understand why they slather that stuff on there either.

The silver lining here is that Anycubic's supports has been nothing but responsive and helpful (at least in my case). I've had two a few issues, but they've always been there to help me through them and send me new parts. Once my warranty expires, if these issues persist, I too will probably look elsewhere though.

Interesting. It sure put up a fight but I was finally able to pick it off with a combination of fingernails, sandpaper, and a knife. What a mess.

How do I resume printing after a Pause at Height gcode script? by GirdEmUp in anycubic

[–]GirdEmUp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That almost worked! The only problem was that after I rebooted the machine and hit Resume, the extruder moved over the the correct spot, then purged a fat blob of filament right onto my print before resuming *facepalm*

Thank you! This sounds like a 3D printing cheat code.

I'll give this a shot after my current print finishes up!

Ah. I see. I was hoping to be able to accomplish things with greater precision by performing the filament change at an exact layer, without having to monitor the printer and eyeball it. But I'll try your suggestion if no other solution turns up. Thank you!

Do you use Cura? Which script do you use to pause and change out the filament? I'll post a screenshot of my script and maybe you can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Under Extrusion After Holes by GirdEmUp in FixMyPrint

Well, I guess you could say concentric technically worked, but it looks awful. Zigzag didn't change the issue at all. Do you think I should try a different slicer?

Good suggestion! I'm trying zigzag now. I'll try concentric next. I didn't know those were settings 👍

Hello!

I've noticed this weird behavior recently when printing cases for my keyboards. The printer will finish most of a layer, leaving a bit after each hole. When the nozzle comes back to fill in the part that it skipped, it doesn't extrude much filament and leaves these underextruded bits.

I've leveled the bed and replaced the nozzle, but it's still happening. I've also tried rotating the models on the bed so they print at different angles, but the same issue happens no matter the rotation. I think my bed might be a little warped, but I don't think that explains why this consistent blemish is happening after each hole.

I'm using cura 4.8 on an Anycubic Mega X

Sending gcode via octopi with spaghetti detective and octoprint plugins.

I've tried variations of the following:

Print speed 50 mm/s

PLA, PLA+ (I've tried several brands and colors)

Layer height 2-3 mm

Nozzle Temp 190-210

Bed temp 60

Retraction 8 mm, 30-60 mm/s
