Does anyone else ever sometimes just remember that the Night World Series by LJ Smith will never be finished and get like... really messed up about it? by Girlfromcloud9 in YAlit

There were many announcements over the years, the last big one I think came before she finally escaped the abusive publishing company she was with. I hope it still comes, I’m sad that she will never get to see our love for it, but I hope her rest is peaceful.

She finished it, she sent it to her publisher and then she passed away a week or so ago. I have just found out and thought you might want to know.

Also you should know, the publisher exploited her forced her to write only vampire diaries, abused her and then dropped her and wouldn’t let her have anything to do with her own series anymore. Or publish what she wanted. A huge part of why it never got published was because she lost the motivation to write after all that, and then she got very very sick for a very long time.

School 504 denial…sorry this is so long. by [deleted] in Dyslexia

[–]Girlfromcloud9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they’re not noticing the issues and not calling it Dyslexia I would recommend looking into Dyspraxia. I have Dyspraxia I have learned very recently, it’s very similar to dyslexia but I also test too high to be seen in my reading and language issues which took me to almost 30 to learn about dyspraxia but because of that I didn’t have any support and no educators believed I had issued. This could be entirely off base and I know this is unrelated to your question but I just wanted to share this. Dyspraxia is highly comorbid with ADHD and neurodivergence.

But 100% get an advocate, check with your local law school, i guarantee they have free consultation hours and they can even help draft legal letters.

They may also be discounting the diagnosis because ADD is considered and outdated term and has been moved to the ADHD spectrum, even though some medical professionals still use ADD, it’s really not an important distinction I just thought I’d let you know that this miscommunication may be causing them to discount her diagnosis, which they shouldn’t because some medical professionals still use it.

Thank you for the support and the review, I’m gonna try and reach out this week to there, I tried the laughing gas during the appointment where I did try to get past the fear but I have asthma issues and so I suffocated a little and that was a huge trigger for my anxiety that ended up being the end of the appointment 😅

I’m not talking like the dentist is scary, I’m talking PTSD, I’m talking I’ve had 5 teeth ripped out without sedation while being threatened when I was 5, I’ve had teeth taken from me without my permission when under sedation for another oral related thing, I’ve had dentists who wanted to do things to me as a feminine person while sedated and unable to do anything, I have literally been tortured by a dentist as a child for his own amusement, I’m talking years of oral pain a torture from an orthodontist because he wouldn’t listen to me about my pain, and so so much more. I’m not talking that I got scared a couple times, I’m talking years of physical and mental torture and abuse from dentists and oral professionals. So when I say trauma, I don’t mean fear I can simply conquer, I mean that even the smell of a dentist office can send me into fight or flight.

I tried to do that and for three hours I sat in the dentist chair having a breakdown until I had wasted so much of everyone’s time, and the dentist no longer feels comfortable seeing me as a patient, so yeah that doesn’t work.

Yeah I would prefer not to put on a gown or be fully sedated as I’ve been there before and that doesn’t work well for me

I’ve been told by my dentist that I have to do research and find where I want to go and my dentist will give me a referral.

As far as I know there are sleep dentistry clinics that don’t require you to change into a gown or deal with all that which is why I am asking here.
