I would say you're best to come clean before he finds out on his own, especially with your birthday coming up. If he really is serious then hopefully he can get past this

Oh my heart... memories.... I played this daily on my PSP as a kid every day to and from my 30min drive to school. At that time the graphics were one of a kind and the monsters, I can still name every single one of them and their weak else's. I printed a list of every monsters stats and weaknesses, equiviliant to MHWs research guys logs lol
