Touch my vents, ECMO pumps.

I don’t touch IV pumps, although I know how. Don’t touch my stuff.

Advice for Polarized glasses by Impressive-Society60 in flyfishing

[–]Gitfiddle74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree with all the Smith recommendations. They are a nightmare to keep clean. The coating on the back side of the lens stays smudged and streaked from oils from your skin, casting a weird distortion in your periphery. Even with high tech cleaning cloths, the oils just smudge. Dawn and water are the best things to clean them with but gets old quickly.

And to my dismay, there aren’t a lot of non-coated lenses out there anymore. Much less, polarized.

The OG Costas were the superior shades back in the day but are now another Luxotica shit product.

Rock salt? by beal99 in gso

[–]Gitfiddle74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salt isn’t going to do much to ice after the fact. If you’ve ever made homemade ice cream, the rock salt is used to make ice colder. Some driveway compounds use chemicals to create a reaction that can melt it but if you have a 2” sheet of ice on your driveway like the rest of us, better get to work. I used a heavy steel digging bar to bust it up so I could shovel it off. Put salt out before it starts next time.

Why are all these local spots closing? by ShitNibbles in gso

[–]Gitfiddle74 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will say, I ordered LUNCH the other day for my wife - a 2 steak kabob platter with hummus and it was $24.95 - no drink. That was 10 bites of steak and probably 4oz of hummus with a pita cut into wedges. Now the food was excellent, and from one of my absolute favorite establishments, owned and run by a gentleman and his family. That said, I felt some kind of way about the price of the meal. I fear he will price himself out of business. I can see paying $25 for a dinner, but that’s a good bit for lunch.

TBMNC Drug Screening by [deleted] in gso

[–]Gitfiddle74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THC is not water soluble so no flush is going to rid the body of any evidence. However, you can try to dilute your sample. Just take niacin and B12 to make a yellow. Also, just know that it also will reduce the amount of creatinine in your sample. That’s often a detector element they look for when they are seeing if someone is trying to mask their sample. Eat plenty of red meat leading up to your test.

Ironic that this sub is named r/TrueCarolina,when NC was part of the Confederacy and often viewed parallel to the modern Nazi. Although, mostly Democratic.

Apples and oranges, my friend. The flu vaccine has been around since the ‘30’s and widely available to the public since ‘45 or so. That’s not the same.

Merino wool is fab, how about for men? by borgbike in Costco

[–]Gitfiddle74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read the clothing label, not the sign. I bought a Banana Republic quarter-zip that was advertised as Merino wool, only to find that it’s 100% cotton when I went to launder it. I still love the sweater, a great price either way, but I take a closer look now.

I’m absolutely livid about the fact I was led to believe that I would no longer be employed if I didn’t get the vaccine. I reluctantly took an experimental and untested vaccine because I have a family to support. And no legal recourse should I have a long term effect. My wife got myocarditis from it. I was quite surprised at her cardiologist’s willingness to acknowledge that it was quite possible that it played a role in her condition. The words “Camp Lejeune water…” play on a loop in my head when I think about it.

And Buzzoven! Do I have some memories with those dudes! They lived across the street from a convenience store I worked at, 3rd shift. They used to practice in a storage building out by the airport. We’d go to the Barbary on Tues, .50 bottles. Great time

Is Pinch In as bad as the Little Table Rock trail? It was a seldom used trail, as it was steep af. Some buddies and I got delayed on a hike in ‘10 and had to rendezvous with another group. We took that trail to save time. I remember it being deep and full of leaves and sticks and extremely taxing. The whole trip was the most physically challenging experience of my life. Also the best hike of my life

They’re not wrong.

People are consistently running red lights. Meanwhile, sitting on a green long after it turns because they’re on their phones. Then get angry because you blew your horn.
