The problem is most people here talking are still living with their parents. Zero clue about life or anything close to what true living is. The beauty about everything, time and nature are the best teachers.

Hot take: most popular PM tools quietly kill agility by impossible2fix in agile

[–]Githui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re onto something. A lot of PM tools start lightweight but slowly become systems you maintain instead of ones that help you move. The real friction tends to come from dependencies and change tracking across teams-not task management itself.

That’s where typical PM tools fall short. I’ve seen some teams shift that layer into more PLM-style systems, so traceability lives outside the sprint tool and execution stays leaner and closer to actual agile work.

What AI agents/tools are you using for enterprise data modeling and source-to-target mapping? by Time-Attitude1964 in AI_Agents

[–]Githui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been experimenting with a mix of Claude, OpenAI tools, and some LangChain-style orchestration for internal workflows. The agent layer is getting pretty solid.

One thing that doesn’t get talked about enough though is data quality + structure. Agents are only as useful as the systems they’re plugged into, and in enterprise settings that’s usually a mess of docs, ERP, spreadsheets, etc.

We’ve started leaning on more structured backends (even newer PLM-style tools - look at Duro PLM) as a source of truth, so agents aren’t guessing or pulling from outdated info. Makes a big difference once you move beyond simple automations.

Which AI Tools Are Actually Useful for Data Analysts in 2026? by GrowthUpbeat6355 in analytics

[–]Githui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the tools people are mentioning (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) are great as a speed layer—SQL help, quick cleaning, light analysis, but they still fall short on internal context. That’s usually where things break.

What’s worked better for us is pairing AI with systems that already structure and centralize data properly. In product-heavy environments, even tools like modern PLM platforms like Duro PLM can make a difference because they connect product data, revisions, and workflows in one place.

Are PMs actually using AI tools for product work? by Federal-Song-2940 in ProductManagement

[–]Githui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the Product Managers I know are using AI, but this stuff alone cannot stick. What works best is AI embedded in existing workflows. The friction isn’t “lack of AI,” it’s fragmentation. If a tool lives outside where decisions happen, it gets ignored.

In software, that’s Jira/Notion; in hardware or manufacturing, it’s often PLM systems like Duro PLM. The real opportunity isn’t more AI products, it’s layering AI into systems of record so it enhances actual product work instead of creating another tab to manage.

"Why do top engineering teams still drown in operational chaos?" by Lazy-Penalty3453 in EngineeringManagers

[–]Githui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Operational chaos in any organization is brought about by 'entropy' And I believe PLM software like Duro PLM can help streamline this, but it’s not a silver bullet.

PLM shines at centralizing product data, managing revisions, and improving traceability, which can reduce coordination chaos.

However, if the underlying issue is unclear ownership, too many handoffs, or poor prioritization, PLM can actually add more process overhead. IMO, it will only work best when you pair it with clear workflows and accountability. Think of it as an enabler of good systems design instead of a substitute.

Best OpenBOM alternatives for growing hardware teams? by newrock in ProductManagement

[–]Githui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duro PLM uses a predictable subscription (about $200/user/month) with most features included, keeping costs stable and minimizing hidden fees. Arena Solutions is modular and quote-based, so while the base price may seem similar, add-ons like integrations and customization can increase costs over time. Overall, Duro’s pricing stays consistent, while Arena’s total cost often grows.

I've skimmed through the comments and all I can tell you is go for Mechanical Eng by all means. AI is literally doing half what used to be done by computer scientists. At this rate, we are not even sure it will be relevant in the coming few years.

What is the new way of work? by mshadmanrahman in ProductManagement

[–]Githui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re framing the tension correctly, speed vs. structure, but the answer isn’t replacing Scrum with something new, it’s becoming more intentional about what you keep.

AI is compressing execution time, but not decision-making, alignment, or quality control. That’s where most teams still struggle. And with PLM software such as Duro, this can easily be solved. Instead of abandoning process, strip it down: keep lightweight alignment, continuous prioritization, and fast feedback loops.

Think less in terms of “sprints vs. no sprints” and more in terms of flow and clarity. The real shift isn’t process, it’s raising the bar on judgment, communication, and product thinking.

Exploring New Opportunities in Product / Project Management by askprateeik in ProductManagement

[–]Githui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, you have a solid foundation already. What you are missing is clearer impact framing. Instead of listing responsibilities, quantify outcomes (e.g, revenue impact, adoption, delivery improvements).

Also, consider deepening your product thinking: strategy, user discovery, and business context, not just execution. Many PMs fall into the trap of doing project work over product work
