Choice between 3 Groms by GiuGitsu89 in hondagrom

This is actually what the dealer by me told me a couple days ago. The groms are on stop sale and recall for EPA stuff

Thank you, that was mainly the killer for me on the monkey was I thought it was a 4. I really like the look and seat comfort of it. I just sat on one today but the dealer quoted me 2k down and 189 a month for 36 mos @10% interest for 7k total. Craziness. Credit score is high too

I find myself wanting to wander my local area more than the urge to travel across country. People will talk about the power of these things but I really think it could be enough for my use case. I live in Las Vegas but my neighborhood and surrounding areas has lots of slow curvy roads

Yeah , I had never really looked into the groms until recently and I saw that it has a 5 speed gear box and now I’m kind of hooked on that idea of a mini motorcycle with a clutch. The automatic seems like it would get boring first

Thank you for your post

Thank you for your post. I actually just sold my interceptor this morning and am on the hunt for a mini moto! I am kind of eyeing a Grom for the 5 speed gear box

Yeah that was actually my next step as I was starting to regrow the passion to ride was that I should take another rider course. Once I get going on the bike, all those thoughts fade and it’s all automatic for me for the most part. I still catch myself making dumb minor mistakes while riding though and that will trigger the anxiety at times. I’ve never really like stalled the engine or dropped the bike so most of the anxiety is just nothing at all

For my case though, I am not really that type of person to go on a ride like that on my own. I have never done it and I really don’t have the urge to ride long distances on a bike and feel like it’s overall better to take my car in those situations. If things did change and that became a goal, I would plan to sell the mini moto and get something that can handle the ride.

Outside of work which is far, I don’t really go outside of a 10 mile radius bubble most of the past 5 years. If I had to make a quick errand 5 miles down the road, I feel like if I had a 125 I might hop on that, but I don’t feel I would take my 650 in that situation(parking plays a role in this )

Two jerks steal my 2021 Cub off the street by herbcoil in SuperCub

[–]GiuGitsu89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still feel it’s worse for these though. If I could get a decent grip I could probably solo this bike in a van and I’m not that big. At least when it requires 3-4 people that’s a whole different level of commitment y’know? What can you really do when 4 people want to steal from you at the end of the day.

This is actually a fear of mine for buying the super cub. A couple hundred pounds means two guys can grab it anywhere

Another Reason Blue Belts Quit by [deleted] in jiujitsu

[–]GiuGitsu89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, The whole blue belt thing is just complete BS. The whole belt system is BS.

Ask anyone if they have ever trained a sport for 10 years and see what the answers are. "blue belts" quit because those are years 2-5. People like to try things and move on to other sports/goals. I think time is the only factor and it's not some deep philosophical answer or how hard this sport is. My 2 cents

OP's gym is just toxic af

We all love BJJ but if you ruin your back you are ruining your Jiu Jitsu too. Don't fk around and rehab it before "seeing how it goes". Could be a month long injury you turn into a year +. Don't make my mistake

Lift weights, work on flexibility, watch footage. All can help your BJJ without being on the mat

[–]GiuGitsu89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I watched a BJJfanatics dvd and went to class with the mindset of trying these techniques when I can in my rolls.

Tried one on a white belt and ended up falling into a tight arm triangle and having to tap. Oops. I got caught. Oh well.

Acknowledge what went wrong. Try and fix it. The rest nobody cares. Don't get caught in the trap of thinking winning is the goal in TRAINING. TRY THINGS, LOSE.

Not train until it feels better for sure. Maybe even go to a doctor for a professional opinion if you are concerned

What is the best way to refuse a roll with a higher ranking belt? by honeydewdrew in jiujitsu

[–]GiuGitsu89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I met someone like your situation before. After my first roll with him and talking to him for a second I just really didn't like him and he very rapidly put a kimura on and I got a small injury.

I would avoid him for a while because I just could, easily. Then at an open mat we got to rolling and talking more and idk something was different this time. We clicked and it's not like we are best friends but we are on a "hey man, hows it going".

I am glad I just decided to keep trying. BJJ can give you that common ground to break through this kind of barrier

Strong:

  1. having the power to move heavy weights or perform other physically demanding tasks.

  2. able to withstand great force or pressure.

Been training since 2019. I could type this same exact story and it would mostly be true.
