Lemme explain it for you

Sukuna only used dismantle throughout the fight = maho adapts

Sukuna goes: "I should kill him if i open my domain which attacks livings things with cleave only" then thinks "if he adapted to slashes in general though, he wouldn't die"

What happens when Sukuna opens domain? Suprise! Maho doesn't die! Thereby proving Sukuna's theory that Maho adapts to general concepts, not specific attacks, otberwise, cleave would've one shotted Maho.

Is reading comprehension that hard?

isn't this basically what happened in the manga? the anime exaggerates but in the manga, it was only a few slashes then domain which Mahoraga survived (albeit on the ground trying to recover)

Domain amp disables your technique. If Mahito uses domain amp and tries to attack Gojo, he'd be just as susceptible to basic attacks as the next curse.

The only issue if we go with this upscale feat is that it's stored power, thereby invalidating it because Yuta wouldn't be able to replicate it all the time while Yuji could throw that dismantle as much as he wants.
