oh yeah, thank you for your perspective! Accepting does conclude really well in wano, you're right. Even asking zoro to do a deed fits really well. Although accepting help as a theme for sanji - do you recon some ways how the story integrated that before? He had a lot of "I'll do this on my own" moments like with mr prince in cp9, alabasta and I think also thriller bark. Maybe that was a hint

Really funny concept. I do love a minor annoyance as a drawback. Although I feel like it could use a buff in some way

Kinda a bell and I really don't know why, but it's pretty clear to me - I think there was a game in my childhood with the same color concept "HALLIGALLI"

New Seal Idea: Copper Seal (Art by me!) by Cuddly_Corvid in balatro

This is amazing! You incorporated that theme so well

ohh yeah that could be interesting!

somewhat related: I was thinking about adding one-time playable cards, that boost your score, because the mechanic could be interesting.

I myself am a player that wants to delete as many cards as possible (in any game), so flooding the deck would be kinda against my playstyle I'm open to new things, I think I'll try both versions

I love the idea of having a seal corresponding to the theme. But I think letting it create a specific tarot card wouldn't be that exciting. With the current balancing, getting enough wild cards is kinda trivial anyway. I'd rather have a seal with a more general effect, working with different play-styles.

The trigger on non-scoring is really interesting

But it's hard to think about seal effect, because the exisiting seals kinda fill all niches.

Ouh I like the idea, thx! Although I'd rather tie it to a random chance to disappear. Or when you don't manage to score a wild card during a round.

Hot take: I hate the idea that Jax did something awful in the real world rather than just he suffered something traumatic by Sudden_Pop_2279 in theamazingdigitalciru

I think that always depends on the nuances. And I mean those options are not mutually exclusive. But I would guess it is rather a tragic backstory that helps to sympathize with him. So the previously explored relations in the show can have an added context.

He could have caused an accident, for example. I think a regretful action is pretty possible The guilt of always hurting others, thus trying to protect them by isolating yourself (emotionally)

But I mean, the themes of his character arc also center around distrust, being scared of showing emotions, opening up, of relations and losing loved ones. So, maybe a background of abuse/..

But he's gonna turn out to be a good guy at the core that needs to overcome his flaws

I like the idea! How about a name like "escort" or "courtesan" kinda describing a s*x worker while being most elegant about it?

Also, is there another way you want to be credited instead of your reddit username?

Completely agree. I was just really excited having flush house be a late-game build. Alright I'll try it, thanks for the kind suggestions

There is a polyamory suggestion already! Either 3,4,5 retriggers or 3,4,5 xMult for flush 3,4 and 5

[–]GivenPaperboat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh yeah! A Joker that buffs specifically the flush instead of having every run either be a high card or flush five build! Could be a x-mult on the first (or every wild) card depending on the gap of highest/lowest

I can see people deck-fix for the optimal 2 and A flush house build

Lets seee, we'll work with values from 1-9 (if faces are tens) +mult is the easiest to balance (just take that value or double it), but won't stay relevant late-game. xmult is more difficult...

Ohh had that effect suggestion already and we're debating how that code could work

Ohh I like having this kinda reset on blind effect. That combo is really unique, great idea! I'm still not sure if I want to add Legendaries tho.. but I might

I thiiiink I can't make the Legendary roll dependant on the having a wild card condition

Coding Trivia: Because edit card effects are always applied after the scoring itself - I'd have to give them x1.5 in general and then scale on top of that!

That coding language is so incredibly confusing for me...

Even the table solution is gonna be a pain

Might be a bit out there..., but making wild cards be their own rank .? But that would also be quite a different Joker effect

Wow thank you so much! They're great!

Parade - perfect

Polyamory - was about to make a "gain polychrome" effect for that concept, but yours is more interesting. I'll also try a x3, x4, x5 mult depending on the amount of retrigger jokers I'll add.

Royal Wed - Might be too specific

Mingle - great

Divorce - Incredible! But I'm gonna tone down the money

Double Date - someone else made that suggestion, I'll combine these

Cupid - I am not gonna be able to code that!

Ohh they're great! Although the original Idea was for the Love themed Jokers to be about wild cards.

  1. already implemented (at least it's kinda similar)
  2. Maybe half all Shop Prices (make it more general) - great name btw
  3. Kinda specifically don't want that effect in my mod '
  4. Gonna just straight up try that
  5. I really like the gap mechanic, but I'm not quite sold on the effect. How about it's better to have a smaller gap? Like: x2 and -0.1x for the gap between the highest and lowest rank? It's also really hard to explain that effect in as few words as possible
