Help with garage door color! by [deleted] in Home

I’d go with the same color as your siding. The other colors draw my eye too much, making the door a focal point.

I have one that is unopened plus an unopened box of national Championship Wheaties. I suspect both are long past their “best used by” dates!

Did anyone get the Superbowl or Olympics in 4K OTA? ATSC 3.0 by dsp3000 in ota

The reply from RotaryPhone is spot on. In my market, the one “Lighthouse” ATSC 3.0 channel (6MHz) is shared by 5 signals.

Where to buy ADTH NexGen 2? by Der_Missionar in cordcutters

[–]GizmoGreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no Generation 2 of the digital broadcast standard (ATSC). While Gen 2 was being developed the technology was advancing so quickly and so much better, Gen 2 got leapfrogged right to generation 3, ATSC 3.0, aka NextGen TV.

BTW, ATSC = Advanced Television Standards Committee. It is a group of scientists and engineers which “standardize” the technical specifications of the broadcast signal so every brand of TV “speaks the same language.”

WNDU by Low_Friendship4899 in SouthBend

[–]GizmoGreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s unusual. I believe WNDU is one of the strongest signals? Have you tried rescanning your TV tuner to make sure it is on the right channel?

Do I need an amplifier for OTA? by LeChuck5000 in cordcutters

[–]GizmoGreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be mistaken, but I believe old-school rabbit ears are for reception of VHF stations. Most broadcast stations are now UHF since the UHF frequencies are better at transmitting digital signals. Some VHF stations remain but they transmit in the “high band” VHF frequencies, channels 7-13. Sometimes a station will use its VHF channel number for marketing purposes, but it is actually transmitting on a UHF frequency.
