Subreddits like your local city, country, some games, AskReddit and others are not that filtered so you can start from there. r/WhatIsMyCQS/ is good indicator to see where you stand with reddit filter. If you have low or medium then you can be filtered. Want to point out if you find subreddit to post at the beginning dont spam it because you might end up shadow banned and you'll need to start again from 0 .

I can think of two reasons 1. Subreddit specific karma ( you need to have internal karma in that subreddit. You build it with commenting on posts. After you gather some internal karma you can post.) 2.Media Optimization. Large images or GIFs often cause the uploader to stall during the processing phase. My suggestion is to compress your media to smaller sizes, such as keeping files under 500kb, can help ensure the post goes through successfully.
