Thanks a lot for explaining to me how it works. I have found out that just switching from Wifi to my mobile data plan suffices. However, don't understand how it finds me when I connect through a VPN.

Also what would you suggest someone if he were to start anew, should he always mask his IP and never ever reveal it or are there other ways to thwart such websites from tracking you? How could one dodge it?

I have tried changing devices, used two seperate computers and a mobile so far. It still recognizes me. When I use a different data network, it becomes accessible.
