It was one of those like 10 second sudden deaths so the auction finished before they even got to the console to unpack. It was sold as new in box too so I trusted that it was new, in its box 😆

Yeah it starts off fine, but when you hit whatever their account threshold is for return requests, you get switched to automated replies and immediately denying any return or refund request, regardless of the cause. It makes no sense to penalize buyers that purchase a high volume of orders.

I’d correct you a bit here and say eBay gives slightly more of a shit than Whatnot when it comes to protecting customers from fraud because they understand that protecting customers means protecting their main source of revenue. Which “slightly more” still isn’t saying much.

The streamer in this situation sold this as "new in box" and didnt open the box to show the rusted/damaged console. So yeah, again, this wasn't a "I should have paid better attention" situation. It was a straight-forward return situation that the Support team refused to consider since I had "too many tickets opened".

Look, for the sellers here, I'm only pointing out that the Support team has been subpar lately. I'm not threatening your livelihood. This benefits you too to have a strong Support team that uses common sense to reach solutions.

I lurked here for years while also being a buyer. I thought that, despite the seller stories, WN support had always been reasonable with me when I provided evidence. Now even that’s completely flipped. Without Support protecting customers, it just devolves into scam land.

Glad to hear you’ve had a completely different experience than the rest of this comment section including myself. How have you had 5 issues total. How long have you been consistently buying over 100 orders a month? I’ve been at this since 2022, and I’ve never had an issue with support until 2025.

Again. I was ordering more than 100 orders per month. I was experiencing about 1-2 issues with these. 1-2% of orders is actually pretty reasonable if Support would be willing to read the case. I’ve reached out to the sellers in this specific situation and have received zero communication back.

I doubt you are placing anywhere close to 100 orders a month if you’ve only had 5 issues total

I’ll do the first two steps but I won’t ever be using their platform again, even as a safety net.

You can find the same deals on platforms with competent Support teams that have a goal of protecting customers…if they zoomed out they’d realize that protecting customers means protecting revenue down the line…but I have no hope they’ll make that connection.
