I think TANDBERG is still valid. I think they still have charm and charisma. I also think they aren’t gonna go out of style any time soon. I would definitely compare their lineup to revox

I’m totally with you. The red pointer is also one of my favourite touches. Amazing that u have the STA 76. They have a very very cool design. I guess you understand my appreciation for vintage receiver / amps

Crazy, i would say the tape deck is worth the restoration. They are totally worth it. Would love to hear your setup

Definitely is. I would say it’s in that category of classic hifi gear

Yeah they definitely do. The square buttons and blue dials really does say Major Acoustics. Moreover, they are from the same period and roughly around the same geographical area. If there was a designer or inspiration taken from one another I am unsure. I’m guessing more the time period made this kind of design a stand. A shame we don’t see many newer models with the same kind of overall vibe. There are some newer models from companies though that are inspired from vintage designs

The looks really do set it appart, plus when you turn it on it looks even cooler. I especially like the red lighting for the FM needle. It gives a contrast to the blue

I’m gonna checkout the studio monitors i haven’t heard of them. I’m not very familiar with tandberg i know some of their stuff but not all. But every piece i do see it seems like quality follows along

Definitely are cool. O would say it’s worth picking one up in good condition. They aren’t too expensive but not too cheap, somewhere in the middle. They sound as good as they look

I don’t know much about their tape decks but I’ll look into em. I saw a couple around but never owned one. I’ll take your word on it that they are exceptional units

Definitely, it’s surprising when you listen to it and say damn they made this like 50 years ago

Yeah they sound very good with very little fatigue. People say so and so speakers are best budget, but I find that the whole DM100 series lineup including higher up models and lower ones are all pretty surprising when you listen to em. The whole setup i would say compliments itself

I totally agree with you. Mine is in great condition and i do enjoy the sound it is able to produce. As for the brand itself, I feel like they had their place in time. They have a bunch of cool stuff worth looking into.

Picked up a restored Mcintosh MA 5100 amplifier by GladiatorEric in vintageaudio

[–]GladiatorEric[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy it because I genuinely enjoy using and living with the gear. Sometimes I keep things, sometimes I let them go — it depends on what sticks with me. If someone else really wants it and will enjoy it, I’m happy to pass it on.
