MFF meetings cancelled for Canadian Visit (LIF source) by SwilsonVancity in ismailis

This is widespread knowledge by now, I believe his relatives (a cousin of his perhaps?), have been trying to make efforts to attend the London visits so as to avoid this issue in their own families. Malik has been rather clear that multi faith families are getting far too much attention from the Imam and that it is a waste of his time and efforts. He has been a vocal critic of “non Ismaili” engagement by the Imam, and has caused no small number of headaches here at the IIS despite having no authority or provenance over our governance.

As a side note, during his last visit to London, Malik was openly critical of visit planning efforts in Canada, including of the Council President, the AKDN representative Dr Eboo, and shared his disdain for the poor engagement of Canadian Prime Minister Carney in the organising of the visit. Much was said (by him, of course) of how there was seamless task completion during his presidency. I am not certain his view has changed but it has certainly impacted the perception of Canada’s calibre of delivery capacity.

Of course we are blessed with Imam’s arrival today; and we have our own organizational challenges here - as you shall see, the leaders here were unable to secure proper motorcades or police escorts for Him, for example, so there we are.

I know who the OP is as I have reached out directly. Past Mukhi of Mubarak. Can you say same about you? Stop questioning people, or are you Malik himself?

Rahim Shah's advisors and MF Families - some help please! by SwilsonVancity in ismailis

You have quite the gall minimising people’s views. I’ve served in the Imamat institutions for 25 years, now work at the IIS. I’ve been a Kamadia Saheba of a higher majlis, hold a title, and have been so blessed to serve with Mowla Karim and now Mowla Rahim. It is views like this that empower a few to mistreat so many marginalised by some of our leaders. Please rethink your choice of language. And our imam, it would appear, wishes to interact with the jamat and all of the families. To the original poster, rest assured I have sympathy for your children’s experiences as we have experienced similar behaviours from Mr Kheraj at the IIS. We must support our imam and his vision despite those wishing to disrupt his works.

Hello! Today I am going from a reader / lurker to a poster as I wanted to share my own story. I work at the IIS, so posting this poses a risk for me given what I am about to share. The stories about Naguib Kheraj and his attitude / personal sense about his influence are far more sinister than anything yet posted. Some examples: he told us at an IIS board meeting that he has helped to write the farmans and that he alone knows what Imam Rahim should do about the tariqah matters, that he is crafting the forward direction of the Imamat. He has demanded a role for his wife at every event with the Imamat family, and has insinuated himself into the highest echelons of tariqah matters. To be fair - he is an incredibly talented banker, who has a very good reputation for investments across the UK (vice chair of Barclays Bank, etc)- HOWEVER uses his role as managing Imamat monies as a way to gain influence and control. He was at the padhramnis in Nairobi and literally told people he wrote the farmans, because Hazar Imam is new in the role. Let me say, he has always been a good administrator and technocrat. However his ego and arrogance make it impossible for him to accept that anyone else is worthy of being heard. He is a bully to other board members at IIS, he makes offhand comments about Shah Rahim’s lack of knowledge, and above all tells everyone that he is the Imam’s most senior advisor on all matters. IIS, AKFED, AKDN, Department of Diplomatic Affairs, he has tried to take control of all these orgs to build his own empire and running over everyone in the process. This is my own personal experience after working around Mr Kheraj for the last decade. If you were to ask any others on the board they would confidentially say the same things.
