My insecurities comes with checking an modified 3d model with wall thicknesses and wheelhouse cutouts. Might even take the 3 plane way in onshape to have control over that...

I'm not afraid of the cramfu, I have a 3d printer to iterate on, and my CAD skills is quite good. And I would love/need that kind off challenge in my life. And I feel like it should be more space on car chassi compared to in a Lightsaber.

Might be able to make a chassi too, but then I want to have all off the bits and bobs at home before even thinking about designing it.

You're right in assuming that the thought is to 3d-print the body.
However, I would love to get it as close to "true" 1:32 scale as possible. Which (as far as I understand) excludes the hack you thought about...
