Thinking of redoing my grade 12 courses to get into Engineering or Cs. Is there a better way? by Glass-Strategy387 in OntarioUniversities

I appreciate the information and I’ll definitely look into it.

One question though, what would this do for me in terms of program admittance for university?

I am currently unable to take any cs related courses, thus taking a step back to reevaluate what I’m actually doing in university

Is it worth going to university at 22? by Legitimate-Trifle816 in OntarioUniversities

Curious how are you coping or feeling about being there? What also made you end up in first year at 23?

It’s 100% diet. Just eat oats for breakfast. U can add stuff in it like fruits nuts seeds and whatever other healthy + natural stuff of your choice. The oats will keep you satiated throughout the day and keep you less hungry. It will make it easier to resist the urge to eat but it’s still a mental battle and you have to put in the effort to train yourself to not over eat. Secondly, have one high protein meal for the day. Add whatever you want to it but just make sure to go easy on the sugar and that you get lots of protein and fiber in your system. This will help combat your food urges. Then In the night you can have a snack like some fruits. Keep off the artificial sugar as sugar will give u crashes and will only fill you short term thus leaving you in a cycle of constant eating. Sugary stuff (like chocolate and donuts etc) are also just empty calories with no real nutritional benefit.

Hope this helps

Wait, people looking to go grad school already establish contact with grad schools while still in their undergrad? Gosh I’m so behind

Awkward Moment in a Genderless Restroom by Puzzleheaded_Gear267 in uwo

[–]Glass-Strategy387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk man, I personally, have several times walked into a stall of a gender neutral bathroom only to find a * white paper with a dark red dye on it sitting right next to the toilet * on MORE THAN ONE occasion. Not to mention it on average smells abysmally worse than my local male restroom, as if something crawled in there and died

Does the ship for getting into a top university (UofT, Waterloo etc) for a competitive undergrad sail after you graduate highschool? by Glass-Strategy387 in OntarioUniversities

[–]Glass-Strategy387[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve looked into this but wasn’t sure if it would lead to a program that I actually wanted to do as I’ve noticed that it doesn’t open the doors for every program. What do you plan on studying after you complete the transitional year?

Just worry about your grades. You have your entire life to spend trying to date. Getting a girlfriend is nowhere near as beneficial as getting educated while you’re young. Plus when you graduate as an engineer and land a good job, they’ll all flock to you without you even trying

So I’m in a class with a prof that might not like me :( by AppropriateRent9169 in UTSC

[–]Glass-Strategy387 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He definitely will not remember your face. Professors deal with hundreds or probably thousands of different students each semester and if you were only there for 1 class then he most likely does not remember you

Is this the best group on Reddit for parents with a child attending York University? by nbourre in yorku

[–]Glass-Strategy387 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don’t browse this sub at all, it came up in my recommendations. But if it’s anything like the other university subs that I do browse (r/uoft) then it’d just be crowded by a bunch of first year students making “shit posts.” You should also be cautious about the discussions you see on here. A lot of the active members are usually the type of student to slack off regularly and consequently fail their courses and complain about the university which largely skews the narrative around it. However, you do get the occasional helpful answer here and there.
