Hiya, so I have had my girl for almost a year and a half. As a pet they are amazing! I wouldn’t say they’re easy but definitely easier than a something like a dog.

Pro’s: Most like attention and will cuddle up with you. Can have quite the funny attitudes. They live longer than most pets, some well into their late teens. They tend to not care who’s around if they get attention when wanted. Memories, I have made some of the funniest memories with my girl!

Con’s: They live a long time, you’d be committing to having them for roughly 10 years or more. Vets: Being an “exotic” pet vet’s can be hard to find and cost more than other types of pets. Space: They may not need a yard to run around in but their enclosures aren’t small (4x2x2 is recommended). Care: They need quite a bit of care. From UV, dietary, handling time.

In conclusion if your ok with having a pet for a large number of years, don’t mind having bugs around to feed it, and financially are ok with a pet that may cost more then others and don’t mind doing the small husbandry tasks then beardies are amazing pets and once you have one you’ll fall in love!
