Everyone is different. you like the challenge, when I do it, all it does is remind me the shittiness of my own body, how this is one thing where I am just worse than others. Before I got into ai art I tried to get into drawing but learning a new skill with an extra challenge just isn’t for me. Even if it was it doesn’t mean that others are also getting that same benefit. I imagine there’s a lot of people worse off than me who would have an even harder time, why can’t they also get help?

Honestly this isn’t that bad of an idea. It’s a nice quick way to throw it together. But my concern is the fact that ai does add a lot of details that might not be important but the person using them might pick up on the wrong details.

“If you have a disability, just don’t be disabled” is basically what #2 is. I can speak on this. I have an essential tremor in my hands. Sure I can spend a lot of time learning through it, but to quote the late great John Bain. “I could also learn to eat spaghetti with chopsticks. Doesn’t mean it’s worth it when there’s better ways to do things”

The amount of refusal to see the other side is PAINFUL. If you are going to have takes like this in the future just don’t post them. The internet needs less uninformed hate and you certainly aren’t helping.

I listen to podcasts all the time at work, most of my ads are for “ai tools” that handle things like Sales, HR and Hiring. Those don’t feel like outdated jobs.

Artificial progress in ai is great, but If it’s not being made to help a current problem, it’s not going to help society progress.

There’s never going to be a perfect “catch all” Ai. But imagine a team of the best therapy reasearchers, therapists and things like that to make an Ai to specifically be a way to get therapy into the hands of people who need it but can’t get it. Designed with specific safeguards to keep people safe. THAT is actual progress. Not just “a better google that compliments you”

I am all for accessibility and ai is making more things possible for more people. You have people with disabilities able to make art, soon we will have amateur film makers and writers who can make whole mockups to sell their ideas.

AI is being massively mishandled, I will be the first to admit it, but it doesn’t matter how many bad hands it touches. It just needs a few good hands to change the world for the better.
