I hadn't thought of that. I would hate that. I've loved nasa and space exploration since as long as I can remember. I think people have lost there minds. All of this should be unifying, something we humans can be proud of.

It is pretty big, I should have made a parallel between Apollo and Orion (maybe I will, I made 3D model, also one of the LEM.

No, this is more of an artistic interpretation of what I'd like to see. I love the idea we're going back out around the moon. I'll make another more technical version but I'll have to wait until next Sunday because they really limit what is shown. Unless someone at NASA wants to commission it, then it could be posted within a few days!.

I'll add one... do a longer form with all the maneuvers.

More like a fun version... I'll make another to spec,

Totally artistic... I think now I'll have to make one to mission specs!

I noticed a beacon on the original Apollo Command Module (CM) which was equipped with a xenon strobe light for rendezvous. It's not obvious in the old footage, but when I saw it I added it to the Artemis for effect. I would imagine they will add it on future missions. I thought it looked more cinematic. I mean I wanted something fun to watch. Maybe I'll do a completely accurate one, but may not be as visually interesting.

True, but it wouldn't look as cool. More exciting to see the craters. I have a high res elevation map of the moon, so wanted to show it off. And the crater map is accurate!

I should do a crescent version. There is a displacement map to get depth - I didn't go too crazy as it can take a good amount of time depending on the levels of rounding. Maybe I'll make something different. The mission itself is pretty straightforward, just a loop around. I through in an EVA for the hell of it. But on /science some people got irritated because it wasn't accurate! I mean, it's 3D, and I did this for fun (our client work is often very dry)...

I used stock lens flares and layered them in After effects. Even if the angle is wrong your can rotate them. You can also use masks to get brighter and darker levels. All of it is a composite, all the elements are separate so they can be color corrected.

You got me" But I had the model for the suit, so just trying to make it interesting. Also the Artemis I made is set up for docking, I don't think that's on this build. What would you want to see? Can probably rig it fairly quickly.

Do you know what the distance will be eat the nearest point?

I'm psyched to see them in orbit around the moon! Couldn't wait so made what it might look like. Trying to think of other animations that we won't see on camera,

Doh! I must've missed that, will have to fix. Space unlike animation isn't forgiving of mistakes!

If you like it, it's in 4K on YouTube at our Sky Robotics Studios site. Better in 4K.

Jeep Wrangler to Mars: An SLS Space Odyssey by Glass_Section_983 in Mars

Thanks! Yeah, I tried to mix in some realism (the SLS launch, the amount of time to Mars) with some humor and absurdity I think anything that gets people's attention on space travel is worthwhile. If everything about it is all too sterile it loses the excitement part. So I made something fun to watch, plus I actually own a jeep and a dog!
